Show THE SALT LAKE TIMES FRIDAY, MARCH 30, 1973 Wildlife Violations Filed in Courts The Division of Wildlife has filed counts for 18 separate violations of the Wildlife Code in three Beaver county courts following two months of intensive investigations in connection with lion hunting activities in southwestern Utah. The counts include: hunting cougars without necessary permits or a license, unlawful possession of cougars, unlawful taking of protected species of birds, shooting from vehicles and littering. As part of the investigation, Division of Law Enforcement officers obtained a search warrant to pick up one live cougar which was being held illegally. They also cooperated with the Bureau of Sports Fisheries and Wildlife to place a hold on an ilegal hide found in California. According to Law Enforcement Chief John Nagel, these activities reflect an increased effort on the Divisions part to ensure that the public adheres to and follows regulations established in the 1971 Wildlife Resources Code and rules and regulations established by the Wildlife Boanl.
