Owens Favors Careful Management Of County Canyons The careful management of Salt Lake Countys canyons is imperative so that these beautiful, recreation areas, which so enhance our valley, can be a place of relaxation, enjoyment, and beauty for ages to come,' said Congressional candidate Wayne Owens as he and a band of supporters carried the Democrats walking campaign to Mill-cree- k Canyon Saturday afternoon. They also carried a lot of trash. Along with stops at camp sites to chat with weekend picnicers and hand out brochures, Owens and his companions filled many trash bags with road-sid- e litter. Everyone enjoys these canyons a great deal, Owens said, were fortunate to have them so near the city. An effort must be made to take good care of them." The Owens crew worked diligently, and their reward was a watermellon bust when they reached the bottom of the canyon. They did pick up after themselves. A company is known by the men it keeps. |
