In the 22ni chapter of Deuteronomy, for example, God covers every aspect of life. He tells you what to do if you find your neighbors animal wandering loose (w. You are to catch the animal and return it to your neighbor. If you do not know who the owner is, you are to take the animal home and care for it until someone comes along to claim it In other words, you have a responsibility in the matter. You do not have the right to hide so that you will not have to help out. This Jesus Freak, hippie movement that is so popular today practices the hiding policy. They take pride in the fact that they do not possess worldly goods. And instead of working to earn money to provide themselves with things they might need, they bum these things from everybody else. In a real sense, every Christian is his brothers keeper. Whether you like it or not, you have a responsibility toward other men. If your neighbor loses his coat in the field and you find it. God says that you are to bring it in. When you build a house, you are to put battlements on the roof lest ou bring blood upon vour ouse if a man fall from thence (v. 8). You might put up the battlements and a man might climb over them and injure himself. That is not your responsibility. Your responsibility is to nave enough concern for your family and your neighbors who come to visit ou that you will not willfully avc in your home things that will injure or lead astray.
