Show c THE SALT LAKE TIMES Pago Fivo FRIDAY, MAY 28, 1971 Ballet Announces European Tour Dates Ballet Wests president, Mrs. John M. Wallace, announced the balance of the engagements for the companys tour of Europe at a press conference this week. She stated that we are thrilled by the interest which the European countries have shown in our companies. Mrs. Wallace said Ballet West is truly a cultural miracle and a credit to the people of Utah for having the wisdom to support this fine dance company. It has achieved great national recognition and the news of the invitation to the Athens festival and the tour has already greatly enhanced the praise being given our state and Rocky Mountain region for sponsoring such a fine ballet company. This is wonderful publicity for the state of Utah and the region as well as the company, but a great deal of financial support is needed to make the trip possible. We must still raise $80,-00- 0 for the financing of the trip. We urge everyone to support the undertaking. Ballet West has been booked with its company of 70 for a six week tour that will take it from Greece to Spain. The booking arrangements were handled by Paul Szilard Productions, Inc., of New York City. He is the European impresario for the New York City and American Ballet Theatre.
