Moss voiced strong support for and is joining as a of four administration bills introduced to reorganize the executive branch of the federal government. Senator Moss was especially enthusiastic about his support of a bill which would create a Department of Natural Resources. Since 1965 he has been introducing bills to accomplish this particular reorganization. He said he was the Nixon proposal "even though there are differences between its content and that of the bill I have introduced." He listed two main differences his bill and the Nixon proco-spon- sor Stan Watts, popular basketball coach at BYU for the past 22 years, has been named honorary cancer crusade chairman for the state wide fund raising campaign of the Utah Division, American Cancer Society. Watts, himself a victim of can cer, underwent an extended operation for malignancy at the first of March and is now recuperating at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo. In accepting the appointment, Watts pleaded with Utahns to do their utmost in helping to defeat cancer which is expected to strike out of every four persons in the state during his lifetime. Its going to take time and money, but it's worth every sacrifice because sooner or later every family in the state is going to feel the personal impact of the disease," he said. Governor Calvin L. Rampton met with the coach at the hospital Friday to sign a procla-matoideclaring April as "Cancer Control Month" in Utah and urging all citizens to support the educational and fund raising efforts of the Society. The Governors proclamation noted that more than 2100 people in Utah will be stricken by cancer during 1971 and that annual physical checkups and a knowledge of cancers warning signals can save many lives. It pointed out that some cancer can be prevented, such as n lung cancer caused by smoking cigarettes, and that if malignancy is diagnosed in time it can often be cured with the present methods. Governor Rampton added that the Utah Division of the Cancer Society led the nation in 1970 in conducting life saving educational programs and urged the residents to aid the Society in stepping up research for causes and cures of cancer. for the procsaid that Coach Watts lamation, he had had personal experience with cancer and would like to help in its "immediate defeat."
