Show News Notes from North High NSHS mu Friday, Nov. 27, North Summit basketball team traveled to Box Elder for their first practice game. JV score was 22 to 55 favor of Box Elder and Varsity was 51 to 82. Saturday Pleasant Grove came here and we defeated them 72 to 48. JV also won, 44 to 40. Monday the wrestlers traveled to Brigham City to meet Intermountain Indian School. The results were 27 to 30 in their favor. non and Shat Fitzgerald coming in second. Utahs annual Dairy Princess Pageant and Convention came to an end late Saturday night with the crowning of Miss Gae Lynn Sorenson as Utahs Dairy Princess for 1971. Miss Sorenson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Voyle Sorenson of Loa in Wayne County. She is attending Utah State University and has participated in many school musicals, has been a high school officer, attendant to Miss Wayne atCounty, and FF A Sweetheart tendant. Her comment when told she won was: WOW! Attendants to Miss Sorenson are Lorraine Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorin E. Harris, North Logan in Cache County; Rosemary Poll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry N. Poll, Salt Lake City; Miss Betty Jean Mortensen, daughter of Francis News Larry Johnson is home from the hospital. He is feeling some better. Rex Hallam who is employed in California spent a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hallam. Ronnie Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Johnson spent a few days visiting from his Job in California. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Mitchell had their family home for Thanksgiving. Mrs. Mavis Price, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Fenton and Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Keyes and their families, and Mr. and Mrs. Chad Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Mitchell and Merlyne spent Thanksgiving in Pay son with Mr. and Mrs. Mike Mitchell and family. Sarah McNeil spent a coigrie of days in Heber with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jacobs. Edwin Ure,Kamas, was reelected president of the UDA of Utah, with Dee McFarland, West Weber, vice president; Lynn and family. Dennis Lazenby had his back operated on Monday. He is doing as well as can be expected. Hope he is soon feeling better. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Prescott and family spent Thanksgiving in Salt Lake with Rae's par- ents. Alma Atkinson is home alter spending two months with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Barnes in Euphrata, Wash. Her grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Barnes of San Diego brought her home after spending their vacation in Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Jacobs and family spent Thanksgiving in Heber at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Aven McDonald. Pvt. Stanley Atkinson who is in Georgia, called his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Atkinson on Thanksgiving. He is doing quite well and says to tell everyone hello. Margie Atkinson is still in the Coalville hospitaL She isnt feeling too much better. Hope she soon starts to improve. Verl Dugdale spent four days in Salt Lake with her daughter, Darlene who has been ill with pneumonia. Bishop and Mildred Lemon and family and Grace Lemon spent Thanksgiving in Salt Lake at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy McGuire. Thanksgiving dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Johnson were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Prescott and family, and Mr. and Mrs. BobSiddoway and family. Brown Is Dead at 82 HOYTSVILLE -- Susan Elizabeth Sargent Brown, 82, died Nov. 28 at her home of a long illness. She was born Oct. 2, 1888, Hoytsville, to Amos and Sarah Elisabeth Sargent. Married Enoch Edwin Brown, March 27, 1907, Salt Lake LD6 Temple; he died Feb. 1, 1968. Mrs. Brown was a counselor, Primary, YWM1A, Member Stake Relief Society Board. Filled New Zealand IDS 4. mission, Survivors: sons, daughters, Leonard, Reed, Mrs. Roy (Isabelle) Judd, all Hoytsville; , Wallace, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Ralph (Emma) Judd, Coalville; 22 grandchildren; 32 greatgrandchildren; brothers, sisters, John William, Phoenix, Mrs. Lillian Williams, Mrs. Hannah Peterson, Amos, all Ogden; Mrs. Rose Hardy, Charles, both Salt Lake City. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Hoytsville LDS Ward ChapeL Burial was in the Hoytsville Cemetery. Summit 1951-195- Nice Bazaar Held by Henefer DUP The Henefer DUP held a bazaar. Many articles were sold and it was a Mg success. The large queen size quilt was won by Merla Paskett Corlls of Clarkston, Washington. She was taking care of her mom, Marguerite Paskett. The DUP held a meeting on Nov. 19. The welcome was given by Captain Irene Rowser. Song "Echo Canyon was sung. Minutes were read by Veda Brooks and the history and lesson was given by Tillie Rlchins. The titles were Mining and Railroad Ghost Towns and a history of Echo which she wrote. (This Week) LuCinda and Carrie Carter spent a few days visiting with their grandparents, Lloyd and Mary Wilde. Lloyd and Mary enjoyed having three at their daughters and families home for Thanksgiving dinner; Vernal, Connie, LuCinda, Carrie, Bernie, Clay and Seth Carter; Billy, DiAnn, Kim, Kory and Yancey Staples and Dave, Pam, Russell and Ronald Robbins. Mrs. Maina Dearden and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dearden and two daughters enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Don and Connie Dearden in Morgan. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dearden spent Thanksgiving day at Kays parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Backus in Provo. George and Violet Ovard were hosts on Thanksgiving to the following: Ralph and Joye Ovard and children, Gary, Jerry, Marva and Melissa; Everett, LaNae, Arlin, Deena andShawna Ovard; Vern and Ruby Moore, Tom and Linda Moore. The Bud Ovard home was the scene of another family dinner. Attending were Harold, Delores, Teresa, Todd and Stuart Ovard; Pat, Bonnie, Phillip, Suzanne, Orlene and Eric Ovard; Paul, Judy qnd Doyle Ovard. Judy Ovard visited overnight in Logan with Judy James. Susannah Fowler was thrilled and honored on Thanksgiving members of Day. Eighty-fiv- e her family met in the recreation hall at Henefer. They enjoyed a nice dinner, visiting and a program. Mrs. Fowler had her 90th birthday in July. Dinner guests at the Roy Fawcett home were Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wilde, Kevin and Sheldon and Karen Baren and son Jason. The Wildes also visited at the Lloyd Wilde home. The Blaine Moores enjoyed having their son Ray, his wife and their three children visit them on Thanksgiving Day. Also Alices mother, Mrs. Chelty Anderton. Also the Moores sons, John, Robbie and Ricky. Perry and Belva Nowling enjoyed a dinner after Thanksgiving with their sons, Doyle and Connie Nowling and their three children of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Jim and Janis Nowling and two children of Salt Lake City. Rulon Rlchins and Gregory Rlchins left home on the 21st and are stationed at Lack-laAir Force Base in Texas. Rulon is a squad leader in the Reserves.
