They are learning English. One student, Annette Chen (Mei Yen Chen,, her Chinese name), is at Ricks from Taiwan where she learned about the college from a LD6 missionary DeWayne Ladle of Rex -- burg. The other student, came from Guatemala, Percy San tiro, 23, has aspirations to become an engineer and return to his native country and put his education to work. An older sister is married and resides in Dixon, Calif. For Prof. Stanton the object is to teach the two English is a matter of weeks. They work at it eight hours a day and read children's books, study grammar and basic patterns of English as well as talk as much as possible. Miss Chen resides with the Eldon Ladle family and Percy is at the Stanton home. 'Both will come into contact daily with English so in this respect they are ln a good position to learn English as spoken here, Prof. Stanton said. "Also, both are very smart and very desirous to learn. They, in short, are wonderful pupils. It is easier for Prof. Stanton to communicate with Percy because Stanton served as an LDS Missionary in Argentina and speaks Spanish fluently. He also taught Spanish in the Santa Crus School system. But he doesn't know Chinese. "But Miss Chen is far enough Wednesday, July discussed about building a float to be sponsored by the Summit County Bee and Summit County H Clubs.
