It was Senior Stuff Day that day, too, under the direction of Chris Boyer. Registration for 1968-6- 9 was also held that day. De-A- nn NSIIS The Awards Assembly for 1968 was held Tuesday afternoon. All pearls and rubies were given to the seniors in accordance with their number of achievements, a ruby equaling five pearls. Then scholarships were presented to the seniors. Sixty per cent of the class earned them. Ella Mae Adkins received a tuition scholarship to Weber State College. Christine Blon-qui- st was awarded a $150 one to the Hollywood Beauty College. A Union Pacific Scholarship was given to Melvin Chappell. Kenneth Crittenden received scholarships for the University of Utah, BYU, and Weber tuition; also one to Westminister College. Barbara Dearden won one to Westminister and a tuition for Weber State. Lorin Fawcett received one for WSC and Westminister. Utah Trade Tech gave Jana Geary one. Sylvia Horton received her honors from ExCellis Beauty Salon. A renewable scholarship for $840 was given to Vickie Jack-so- n from WSC . An athletic scholarship toUSU was awarded to Ralph Jones. Connie Maxwells were for Utah Trade Tech and Westminister. Loyal Pace, Valedictorian Award, and USU and Westminster scholarship. Randy Pace, BYU a four-yetuition and fee scholarship. Westminster also gave him one. Westminster gave Colleen Rees and Mary Beth Putnam a scholarship, too. Colleen also received one from Utah Trade Tech. A Boys' State Achievement scholarship to USU was given to Ken Rees. Kerry Rees and Janet Richins, ExCelsis Beauty Salon. Thrilled was Gary Siddoway when he found out the Hollywood Beauty College gave him a scholarship for $150. Jolene Trujillo also received one from ar tliere. Terry Sue Staley, Weber State College; Barbara Stevens, Westminster; Bruce WlUiams a USU tuition award. The Good Citizenship award, award and a the Work-StuWestminster scholarship was given to Vern Williams. The Standard Oil Company gave Ed Tree a scholarship. A H scholarship was received by Nedra Winters to any State College within Utah. Those receiving PTA scholarships were Chris Boyer, Norman Crittenden, Joe F dy 4-- rod-sha- m, Sylvia Horton, Ruth Jones, and Dave Wilde. The "I Dare You award was given to Connie Maxwell and Ralph Jones. Another honor given to Ralph was by the RX. Cola Company. Of the 100,000 kids that play high school basketball each year 11000 of them are picked to be a part of the national team along with a few alternates. Ralph was chosen as an alternate. Within the whole state of Utah, only two made the team with six alternates. Also music, business, FFA, FHA, athletic, speech, and drama awards were presented to the students, afterwhlch the new studentbody officers were sworn into office.
