Greenwalt, medical director of the ARC Blood Program, said today. This wan an Increase of 50,211 units over the preceding year. An additional 168,712 units were collected for the Department of Defense, for use mainly blood fraction for servicemen wounded In Vietnam. The 1965-6fiscal year figure brings to a grand total of units toe amount of blood collected by the Red Crons since the start of its defense blood program In February 1941 Dr. Greenwalt said. Detailed Report A detailed, report issued today by toe Red Cross Blood Program revealed that 4J8 hospitals in 49 states, the District of Columbia, Rierto Rico and the Virgin Islands received all or some part of .their blood needs from the Red Cross.
