Scout 0 Rama Very Good Place To Leam All About Boy Scouts Dear Mae: I am writing in behalf of myself and Scouting to ask a favor of you in helping to promote the 1967 Scout O Rama of the Great Salt Lake Council of which the Hi Uinta District UC one of the 13 districts. I am sure that you know my feeling on scouting, that I fed it is one of the answers to helping solve the problems of youth today. The prime reason for scouting Is developing character and helping youth to fit into society and find his place, through cooperation one with another. I also realise that we cannot promote scouting until we have an enlightened adult leadership. This has been an uphill task in this district and I think that we must do all that we can to make this promotion. The Scout O Rama is the best WOODLAND-M- rs . t m Mrs. Mary Gines Visits California place to go and see scouting in action and the results that have in other been accomplished areas ft they have furnished me a series of mats one of which I am enclosing to help in this promotion. We win also furnish you with some write up of the event. Through the sale of tickets for this event the troop or post gets to retain 60 percent and this is one of the finest ways for the troops and posts to earn money for their respective units. Another Call: from Connie Dear FHends of Kamas Valley: I hope you read the article written by Mary Bee In the April 6 Summit County Bee. Mary asks everyone to please call her of news and be proud of things your family does, or places you go, or things you do. I love to have people call me and tell me of their expediences. Everyone please stop and think of what you have done this week,- - or plan to do and please can me, I would love to hear from you and so would your friends who are away. The readability of the paper depends on news Items. I had some teenagers tell me last week that all the news came from the Coalville area, so when I asked them what was new, they couldnt think of. a thing, and this is the way It goes many times X ask someone for some news, and they cant think of a thing. After about 10 phone calls of this nature, I come to the conclusion there is no news this week and then someone calls and says they have been on vacation or have a new baby, and X am refreshed and start calling again. Please help by 4 and help make calling the Summit County Bee Interesting and fUil of news. 783-438- North Menu Monday Cold cuts and cheese slices,, macaroni salad w boiled eggs, Harvard beets, celery stick, rolls w peanut butter, choand honey, nut 14 milk pint. colate, raisins,, clo-verl- cup-raisi- ns Tuesday South Roadshows Show Originality ToWed WARSHIP Mr and Mrs Sherdon Wanshlp, Utah are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Miss Terry Lee to Carl J. Clinton Gines is employed as carpenter and farm manager at the Youth Camp, Over th' County Agents Desk J. Reed Moore There is still time to do some of trees up In this higher area. Be sure to follow good pruning procedure by cutting back to the main branch of the tree and then cutting at a parallel to it. Never leave stubs of three or four Inches. These die back to the main branch or trunk and can be a source of Infection for the tree. Topping trees too severely can bring sad results. Remember a tree can't eat without leaf surface. When a'l the limbs where leaves grow are cut away tha tree starves. Be very careful of this. If you are planting small grains be sur to plant the best seed possible Certified seed. Here you have a guarantee that the seed Is good free from weeds, chaff, etc. The germination has been tested and you know what to depend on.
