All these programs are supposed to help people under the War On Poverty program. Now when the revolutionary people take over these programs they use the monies to promote their own interests. One classical example is that over 57 underground newspapers that are promoting the Brown Revolution are financed by the Office of Economic Opportunity under the idea they are benefiting the community. These newspapers receive the grants and gradually they start detouring to their real purpose, that of pro- Cesar Chavez which was designed to break the growers. Then the government started financing a program which Pic N Pac would sell to the government and also to private banks, all their interest in the operation and then invite 160 families to take over the operation. They started this and just rt Day-car- moting Cesar Chavez and recruiting revolutionary people through these methods to help Cesar Chavez with his movement. Also, their purpose is to promote the Aztlan movement. I dont know whether the people in government realize this, whether they are naive or are just turning away from the problem. Anytime you see the wrord Aztlan it is actually a promotion to take over five states and connect them into a Chicano Soviet Republic. The states are: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. Then we have at large three other states: Utah, Nevada, and Idaho. The monies that are used by these revolutionary groups come under the grants disguised to help the poor. Most of this money never gets to the poor. In all these War On Poverty programs they never really get the benefit of it. We also find evidence that direct grants have been given to the United Farm Workers Organizing Committee (UFWOC). Then also, grants that are given through programs to promote this agrarian reform. We have programs in California called Cooperativas or Cooperatives. The Office of Economic Opportunity financed half of the cost then Wells Fargo Bank financed the other half. Then they gave the families this land and they were supposed to harvest the land and then pay Wells Fargo what they borrowed. If they cannot pay then the government takes care of the bill. We have found out that these programs just dont work. The people dont have the technical training and are not prepared to do this. Recently there was a pilot program and also a Cooperativa, or Cooperative, when Pic N Pac went out of business because they American Service For the very best in: ELECTRICAL SERVICE Residential Commercial ELECTRONIC SERVICE Color T.V. They are to show that the Brown Berets are really not bad because they come around and give the children free breakfasts. This is what the public is expected to swallow, or believe. Youd be surprised, the American people arc very naive. The dangerous thing I see is that they establish a direct relationship with the young minds, the young children. Then, they reform. QUESTION: You mentioned in your speech last night that the Weekly Reader, the Junior Scholastic, the Senior Scholastic and even the Campfire Girls magazines have elements of propaganda in them propagandizing our youth. Could you give our readers some more information on that? MEL O'CAMPO: Yes, the Weekly R eader, .of course, is with Xerox Company and the Xerox Company is with the CFR Council On Foreign Relations. The start promoting their revolu- tionary ideas like joking about it when theyre eating, then giving the Communist salute, the clenched fist salute. I mentioned in my speech how they do it using the Pavlov conditioned reflex theory. They stretch out their hands with the Five fingers up. Weekly Reader gives the propaganda to the small readers that is propaganda throughout the country, which is that Cesar Chavez is a saint and helping the Mexican people. We This represents five states, Aztlan, and then they start clapping. With this conditioning, Aztlan means happiness to the kids, the five fingers mem Aztlan. So the kids relate happiness with Aztlan although they really dont know what Aztlan means. They clap and they clap and then they come out with the clenched fist salute so the children relate happiness with the salute. Everytime they see the salute on the television screen, and there are many what with all the movements across the country using the salute, the children think that that is happiness and by this means they condition the children from the beginning and prepare them to be receptive to revolutionary instruction in high school and later in college. erroneous information in a California textbook for fourth graders called, Beautiful California. It is already a fact in their history books that Chavez has done this tremendous n work for the people. It is incorrect and not true. The Weekly Reader and the Junior Scholastic also come out with the same type of propaganda. The only thing is they are just increasing their manner of presenting things for different Mcxican-America- ages. The Senior Scholastic is a little more serious because they go into more of the Chicano movement, not only the Cesar Chavez movement and the farm labor, but they go to the Chicano dealing with the students. What they are doing is promoting Chicanoism in the schools where the student will identify with what has been written there about him and then when they promote their own little thing they feel they have the backing at Senior Scholastic. I find it bad because the is duty of citizens . . . The freemen of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise, and entangled the question in precedents. They saw all the consequences in the principle, and they avoided the consequences by denying the principle. (Madison, Works children similar to what the Black Panthers were doing to black children. The Campfire Girls, in their publication, also are targets for this propaganda. QUESTION: Mr. OCampo, do you know of any persons or any organizations here in the state of Utah that are involved in this movement, this Chicano move The principles upon which OHSA is founded are those of tyranny. The consequences of allowing it to continue will be complete government control over all aspects of our lives. I am for stopping it now! I am aware of the personal risks of defying tyranny. Tyrants have always handsomely rewarded those who support tyranny but persecuted those who oppose it. Throughout history, people who have chosen liberty over tyranny have had to do so at the peril of their own personal security. Today is no different. A people who would sacrifice their liberty for a little bit of security deserve neither liberty nor security. Nor will they have either for very long. We are going to have to take more risks for liberty. Lets start with OSHA. Just in case you think Im encouraging you to stick your neck out to protect mine, I wish to remind you that there is a law against encouraging others to violate the law. If OSHA is law, then they can start with me! Let them take me to court and try to prove that I have encouraged anyone to violate a valid law. Aside from repeal and nullification of OHSA, there still is another very effective way to stop it. It is to sue personally the little dictators who administer it. They are attempting to deprive you of your Constitutional rights, arent they? Arent their actions against you illegal? Arent they criminal? Then file charges against them! Bring them to justice!
