J. Reese Hunter U Editors Outlook Hard to Believe the story about Roy J. Our story on page 1 Jackson and the IRS is hard to believe, but it is true so far as we have been able to determine. How can such things happen in America the land of the free? The Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution affirms the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures. The immunity against unlawful searches extends to ones office (State v. Bates, 187 Miss. 172, 192 So. 832 1940), place of business (Wallace v. Ford, 21 F. Supp. 624 D.C. Tex. 1937 ), or his premises (Miller v. State, 174 Md. 362, 198 A. 710 1938 ). An additional point in the Roy Jackson case is that the IRS agents are obtaining affidavits from Jacksons clients -affidavits that by the very nature of the circumstances must be considered invalid because of the element of duress that exists when an IRS agent tries to get any particular citizen to sign a document. As if that were not serious enough, the IRS is now using a mans personal confiscated records to obtain evidence to convict the man. The Fifth Amendment says that a man cannot be required to testify against himself, and by logical extension of that right, a man need not give up his records to be used as testimony against him- - - The deputy regional director of the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) says that Governor Rampton cannot veto the Planned Parenthood grant without vetoing the whole OEO program. It sounds like a good idea to me, but Rampton would never veto the whole program. He admits that his only objection to the Planned Parenthood program is the lack of government controls. My own main objection is that government shouldnt have anything to do with it. Mark A. Anderson non-cooperati- to read. find that I agree with many of the ideas I see expressed there. Still, there are some with which I emphatically do not I v MARKS MESSAGE The agree. One of these is the idea of fighting the United Nations. Very true, the U.N. has proven Forgotten Man many times to be less than effective. Still, equally as true, it has brought wars to a halt and given the world at least a Mark E. Doesnt he have rights? In a day and age of why Is man? the a it crime to discriminate against working work? Is working something to be penalized? This week as you are figuring your income tax, remember: If you chose to work longer hours than your will be buddy across the way, you will be penalized-y- ou charged a higher tax percentage. If you want to work instead of vacationing or playing golf, should you be penalized? Is it wrong to want to raise your standard? To earn a little extra? Work is life! It is stimulating, rejuvenating, satisfying. Why discriminate against it? Karl Marx, the advocate of the working class, proposed as the second plank of his Communist Manifesto-- a graduated income tax, which grossly discriminates against the working man. The more he works the more he is penalized. In actuality Marx was a elite ruling professionals puppet, a hireling of would-b- e who sought to overburden the working man with unconstitutional, discriminatory, confiscatory taxes, take the taxes unconstitutionally directly from his employer even before due, and yet provide means whereby their wealthy associates could avoid tax altogether through e e such things as foundations, capital gains, bonds, and depletion allowances. Dont kid yourself. The professional politicians and planners are not for the working class-th- ey only want vote-wh- ich they propose to buy with your tax your money. The 16th Amendment to the Constitution allows Congress to levy a tax upon incomes. It does not authorize Congress to levy a discriminatory graduated tax upon your income. In this day and age you cannot discriminate in soon in paying, renting, hiring, firing, serving-a- nd drafting, and caring for children. Why then discriminate against work and the working man? In Quong Ham Wak Co. vs. Industrial Acc. Com. 184 Cal 26, 192 P. 1021 12 ALR 1190 the Supreme Court said: A discriminatory law is, equally with the other laws offensive to the Constitution, no law at all. anti-discriminati- so-call- ed tax-fre- tax-fre- breathing spell several times y Israeli notably in that six-da- 1 on. I feel very deeply that the last white hope for mankind is absolutely to forget and bury the nationalism that all too often in the past has passed as patriotism. It is, in fact, this very sentiment carried to its illogical extreme that causes all wars. A conflict of commercial interests is blown up to the point where it becomes a matter of national pride for each nations people to place their lives and fortunes on the block in an effort to massMnurder all of the people in the opposing nation Unless and until the nations of the world are willing all of the to surrender some equally small part of their sovereignity and each become part of a world government, there will continue to be squabbles such as the one ... now brewing all over again between Israel and Egypt. There is always the chance that some militaristic jackass will make of a squabble such as that the world-wid- e detonator for all-o- ut and dont nuclear exchange kid yourself for a minute that such an exchange would not mean at least the end of civilization as we know it if not that of all life on earth!
