July 25, in Spanish Fork. Many exciting and entertaining events are being planned for the entire, fam- ily. Heading the list will be an RCA aproved rodeo scheduled for Tuesday, July 23 and Wednesday, July 24, at 8 pjn. at Spanish Fork Show Grounds. There were 35 chosen for the honor out of the 330 girls present, which was quite an honor for our Eureka representatives. Caution urged to prevent forest fires Tintic HS Band in SLC Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Walker returned home last Wednesday from a ten-da- y trip to North where they visited Dakota, with their son, Frank, who is stationed at Minot Air Base. While there Frank and his parents made a trip to Winl-pe- g and Dolphin, Canada. to North Dakota they stopped at Yellowstone Park for a short visit, and on the return trip made a visit to the Black Forest in South Dakota. They report a most enjoyable trip and a grand visit with En-rou- te ville Hill will begin at A special variety show will be presented at the high school 10:30 at'8 p.m. Little League baseball will be at 2 p.m. at Eureka Ball Park. The Pioneer Day queen and her attendants will appear in the giant parade to1 begin at 5 p.m. A special queens float is being made by'Mr. and Mrs. r Harold Fox. The entries for the parade will assemble in the street by the Bob Robinson home. The parade route will go down Main Street and back up Lead- - j ville. All entries must be at the starting point by 4 pjn. The parade will include floats. - Senior Citizens prepare floats five-out-of-tow- People from the Tintic area will be interested in the Pioneer Day parade in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, July 24. The .Tintic Band will be marching as an entry in the huge parade. The parade will be broadcast on television and everyone is' encouraged to watch the program to support the band. The Tintic Band is noted for its ability. Last Friday it also marched in the Ute Stampede Parade in Nephi. David Evans joins US Marine Corps David Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Evans, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and will leave on the 21st of the month for California. He will be stationed at the Marine Base at Camp Pendleton. Evans graduated from Tintic High School last spring, and has been employed at the Randle IGA Market since graduation. . : Following the parade, winner of the best float will be announced. Plans are now complete for the big Pioneer Day celebration to be held in Eureka on Saturday, July 20. At 10 am. concession stands will open at the front of the LDS Church on Main Street. Upon completion of advanced training the new Marine will be one of the best trained military men in the world and capable of meeting any situation with confidence in his ability to carry out necessary orders and at the same time preserve his personal safety. Methodist Church Sunday Schoiol and Church picnic will be held Sunday at the City Park at 10:00 &.m. All those attending are requested to bring a sack lunch, and soda water will be furnished by the church. Church Service will be conducted at. the Park by Walt Amens of Salt Lake, and Sunday School will be under direction of Supt. Linda Gourley. There will be a 1968 Senior Citizen float with a queen and ' six attendants. Myrtle Theriault has been selected as the queen; her attendants will be Pansy Treloar, Mary Thomas, Anna McDonnel, Annie Smith, Nellie Laird, and . - Rowena ' : . Hanks. The Goshen group will enter a float depicting the Senior Citizens of 1900. A third afloat will carry the Rhythm Band. Florence Fields will play the piano for the band and other members will be announced lap ter.
