According to the Internal Revenue regulations, tips are taxable and under the new Social Security Act, Social Security and Withholding Taxes must be deducted from tip income and reported to the nal Revenue through the employers. Employees should ask for and receive a copy of their income statement form (W2) within 30 days of the last day they worked. Mr. Wise stated that each year the Internal Revenue Service offices are flooded with taxpayers who did not receive their W2s and are unable to locate their employ-e- r.
