Call completely Eureka. m!2 443-681- 7, Mrs. Curtis Butler drove to Prove last Saturday. Before returning to Eureka she visited with her sister-in-laand family, the Kenneth Hones in w Pays on. Mrs. Elna Bird and daughter Marene spent the weekend in Salina and Venice. On Saturday Mrs. Bird attended funeral services for an aunt, Mrs. Lydia Jensen in Salina. They were weekend guests of her daughter an dfamily in Venice, Mr. and Mrs. Don Julander. They also visited with other friends and relatives. Marene had the pleasure of visiting the hobby shop of an uncle of Mrs. Bird, Oscar Allred. He showed Marene how to make mud statues, figurines, and many other interesting objects. He has the most amazing displays of clever floral arrangements, some made of native weeds and trees, as well as the statues carved out of mud. The finished product is a work of art, according to Mrs. Bird and states it is worth anyone's time to visit his hobby shop, and see some of the intricate designs made of the simplest material. Mrs. Lily Erickson, Mrs. Bessie Toone and Mrs. Agnes Clement made a trip to Spanish Fork last Saturday where they combined business and pleasure. American Legion Auxiliary met Monday evening in the Memorial Building. President Mildred Davis conducted the meeting. A regular meeting was held and a report was given on the candy sale at the basketball game last month. Miss Davis thanked all those who donated candy for the sale, and those who helped in any way toward the success of the sale. Pins were presented to Ellen Eataugh and lone Ryan, membership committee, for their outstanding work in making the quota for this year, and for going over by five members, which entailed a lot of good work on their part. Thanks was extended to Mrs. Eataugh and Mrs. Ryan by the president and the members. Girls State was discussed and the names of the girls will be announced later. Miners Union Auxiliary will help sponsor a girl for Girls State. President Davis reported a check had been sent to the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City to purchase coloring books and crayons for the patients, and also reported that a box of bedding, bibs, sacks and one big quilt had been sent to the hospital. A request is made for old electric razors to be sent to the Veterans' Hospital in Salt Lake City. If they are in need of repair, they have facilities at the hospital to put them in working order. If anyone has a razor not in working order, please contact Mildred Davis, and she will see that they are picked up. At the close of the business meeting Bingo and 500 were played with Mildred Davis winning the Bingo prize and Livingston the 500 prize. Tasty refreshments were served by Mrs. Eataugh and Ruth Potts, hostesses for the Va-le- ne It's a first great grandchild for the Jack Andrews! A welcome little daughter was bom Monday to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Campbell in Salt Lake City at the Cottonwood Maternity hospital. New mother is the for- mer Betty Forsey, a daughter of George Forsey, Jr., of Ogden. She Is a first all around first child for the new parents, first grandchild for George Forsey, Jr., as well a first great grandchild for the Andrews. Other happy great grandparents, who are willing to spread the good news are Mr. and Mrs. George Forsey, Sr., former residents of Eureka, now making their home in Orem. Joining the group on Sunday was a son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lee of Ephraim. The Glen Lees also visited with Mrs. Lees parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Nash. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. ad Mrs. Oscar Erickson in Mammoth were their daughter and family, the Jim Lunts of Lehi and a son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Erickson of American Fork. Recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Livingston were Mrs. Maine Johnson and two children of Orem, and Miss Jean Mitchell, also of Orem. Brent Wilde, 18 month-ol- d son of Mr. and Mrs. Vance Wild is in Payson hospital where he is being treated for pneumonia. added much to the basketball games at home and out of town this season. Their pretty uniforms and snappy marching have won praise for them throughout the years basketball events. They attended the games and gave a tea for visiting pep clubs. They also attended a tea at Dugway when the Tintic boys played there. Senior cheerleaders are Penny Sorensen, Peggy Sparrow, Susan Sanderson and Sue McIntyre. Sophomore cheerleaders are Jenny Lynne Taylor, Eileen Franks and Judy Bray. Officers are Gloria Castleton, president; Diana Fields, and Sandra Buttreasurer. and ler, secretary Mrs. Earlean Gear spent the weekend in Brice with her brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. Gene Cromar. They drove to Provo Sunday afterw, noon where they visited with the Cromers son, Stan, who is attending the BYU. out-of-to- vice-preside- nt Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Livingston were in Manti for three days last week. While there they attended the Turkey Growers Banquet, which was held at the West Ward LDS Church. They stated that there were 550 people in attendance. A delightful entertainment was presented by 35 returned missionaries who are attending the Utah State University in Logan.
