Mr. Conover is the publisher of the Springville Herald and the Eureka Reporter. Barry Colovich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Colovich, is spending the holiday vacation here with his parents. He is a student at Snow College in Ephraim. Sunday dinner .guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vem Nevers were her mother, Mrs. E. A. Stokes and Mr. and Mrs. Whitford Bate and family of Provo. The dinner honored Mrs. Stokes on the occasion of her 82nd birthday anniversary. Her many friends in Eureka are extending congratulations and best wishes. . The Sunday School classes presented a program Sunday morning at the Eureka LDS Chapel. The program follows: The Christmas story by the members of the Sunday school class; with readers Earl McIntyre and Chyrle Thomas; choral readings by the girls and boys of Bishop Thomas' class; music was under the direction of Jerry Sanderson at the organ and Roanna Hansen, chorister; prayer, Wilson Lee; Sacrament gem was given by Elizabeth Castleton and the closing prayer was by Leland Sanderson. Sacrament meeting Sunday evening at the Eureka Ward Chapel was conducted by Lee Ryan. The music was by May-m- e Wirthlin at the organ and Jerlie Kay directing. Kirk Drussell was advanced from a Deacon to a teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood; Organ solo by Louise Baxter; vocal solo, "The Holy City" by Charlotte Sanderson accompanied by Norma Jameson; vocal solo, "O Holy Night" George Castleton, accompanist, Jerry Sanderson; retold story, Velma Phillips; vocal duet, Bessie Toone and Ann Garbett, song by Melchizedek members; accompanist for both numbers, Sanderson; speakers, Jerry Clinton Baxter and Richard Webb; Lee Ryan gave a short talk and expressed thanks to the Bishopric for the cooperation given during the year, and extended Christmas greetings to the members. Benediction was by Jerry Sanderson. S-- T happenings The New Years Eve MIA Dancing Party and Smorgasbord is the outstanding event scheduled for next week. All over 14 years are invited to attend, and are urged to contact ward MIA officers to get their tickets. The Party will start promptly at 8 p.m. Stake MIA leaders are going all-oto make this a most wonderful party. Parents are urged to come and enjoy the entertainment and dancing. The ticket insures dinner, dancing, hats and the social fun planned for you. Get Mom and Dad and dance the old year out and the New Year in. Monday evening (Christmas Eve) the little people in the city were Invited to a fine Christmas party at the Stake Center. Santa made an early appearance to greet the wide-eye- d youngsters and treats were given to each child. New Years Eve the Genola Ward will hold their annual Christmas Party for the children. Santa will arive with toys and gifts for the children. Methodist services CaI Corn" ' Mr. . and Mrs. Hugh Jones of Salt Lake are rejoicing over the birth of a baby daughter bom last Thursday, Dec. 20, in the Holy Cross Hospital. The very welcome little girl checked in at 8ft lbs., and will be named Noel Marie. She has two little brothers, who are very excited over the new addition to the family circle. Mother is the former Helen Franks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Franks of Eureka, who are more than anxious to tell the good news. Other happy grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John J. Jones of Miami, Fla. Don Franks, who is employed in Ely, Nev., was home for Christmas, spending the time with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Franks, Mr. and Airs. Harold Jameson and family of Orem, were in town Christmas Day visiting with his mother, Mrs. Alice Jameson and other relatives and friends. and Jim Derry Randle) of Denver, Colo., were back home for the Xmas holidays, visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Randle. Other family members here for Christmas were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Randle of Salt Air. Airs. (Diane Lake City. Mrs. Earleen Gear left for California last Sunday, where she will visit with her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cromar and two boys, at their home in Los Angeles. Airs. Rowena Hansen and son, Paul, were in Goshen on Christmas Day, where they were dinner guests of Mrs. Hansen's daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Brannagan. Other dinner guests were Mr. Mrs. Brannagan's parents, Air. and Mrs. Jack Brannagan. Rev. Russell Tanner will be in Eureka on Sunday, Dec. 30, to conduct the services at the Methodist Church. The . morning service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday school will be at the regular hour, 10 a.m., with Roger Superintendent in charge. Bang-ha- Alls Alargaret Harrington of Provo was a guest of Miss Frances Jones on Christmas Day. She returned to Provo Wednesday morning. Spending tho Holidays here with her parents Mr. and Mrs. P. N. Peterson, were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ferris and family of Portland, Oregon. They also visited with Mr. Ferris' relatives. and Airs. Carlos Rife and two boys of Springville, Air. were in Eureka last Friday night attending the Operetta presented by the Elementary s c h o o 1 - children and visiting with friends. Mrs. Elsie Nilson accompanied them on the return trip to Springville, where she was an overnight guest. On Saturday they drove her to Orem, where she will spend the holidays with her sister Mr. and and brother-in-law, Mrs. Glen Storrs. Mr. and Airs. Wm. Paxman drove to California holidays with their daughter and family, the Myron Milnes, at their home in Long Beach. Ronald Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bird and Dennis Drussel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Drussell, spent Christmas Day here with their parents. They are attending school in Salt Lake City. .
