UTAH STATE PRESS ASSOCIATION Clubs join for Christmas party The La Jollas Club and the "500" Club joined in celebrat- ing their Christmas Party on Tuesday evening. The nicely planned party was held at the home of Mrs. Don Giles, with Mrs. Giles and Mrs. Roy .Gour-le- y as Dinner was served at 7:00 p.m., and the home was decorated in the Holiday theme. The centerpiece for the table was fashioned of a- clever arrangement of poinsetta and tall red candles and greenery. Favors were miniature Santa Clauses. After the dinner the group enjoyed several games of "500" with prizes being won by Mrs.. Alliene Farren, Mrs. Harry Dean and Mrs. John Jones. Attending, other than those mentioned were Mrs. Floyd Nash, Mrs. Ted Johnson, Mrs. George Finch, Mrs. Frank Peart, Mrs. Minnie Painter, Mrs. Wm. Morris and Mrs. - Anna Franks. . Nonna Jameson and Wanda Colovich were in charge of the music. Talks were given by members of the Home Missionaries, Avelene Kirk, Kenneth Hansen. Speakers from the High Council were Evelyn Kirk and Gordon Heelis. A song "Away in A Manger, by Max Wayne Berry, Jan Phillips, Jenny Lee Taylor and Vicki Watt, with Max Wayne doing the solo parts. The Benediction was given by Richard Shoells. Stake news Sometime ago an appeal was made., by a young Elder from the Indian mission for scraps of cloth for quilt making. More recently came an appeal for one large overcoat, clothing for children, especially children under seven and for babies baby quilts, blankets, etc. This appeal is being passed on in the hope that someone will have something along this line that is not being used and would be willing to contribute.
