In about one year he will be getting out of the service. He has made a career of the service. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sharpies from Bluffdale, were weekend visitors at the B. Y. Whitmores. Visitors at the Ixe Angus home last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Mark Angus and son from Roy; Norman Angus, Bountiful; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Curry, Rock Springs, Wyo. and the Dal Seeley family, Taylorsville. They were all here to attend the open house in Vernal for a grandson, Lynn II. Angus. The Curry children stayed with their grandparents, the Lee Angus' while Mr. and Mrs. Curry attended Burrough's company dinner and party at Sundance Resort in Provo Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Squires have a new daughter born August 25 at the Duchesne County hospital. She weighed 8 lbs 9 oz and will be named Joan Margret. Linda Jensen has accepted a post on the faculty of Northern Illinois University where she will be teaching classes in child development beginning Wednesday, August 29. She received her Master of Science degree in Child Development with a minor in sociology at Brigham Young University August 17. She also received her Bachelors degree from BYU. She attended schools in Roosevelt and was graduated from Alta-mohigh school. She taught Head Start at Ft. Duchesne 13 Thursday, August 30 1973 the Mrs. Wade Parrish, Logan and two little daughters have been here for a week visiting her parents, the Don Trumans and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parrish, More moving to Arizona to make their home. A Samuel Kettle reunion was held in Uintah Cayon August 19. The Elvin and Mike Kettle families planned it. They had a hamburger fry, home made ice cream and root beer. About 40 attended. Those from out of the Basin were Mr. and Mrs. Alton Kettle, Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Art Serrest, Moab. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Daniels Jr., attended the John I). Young family reunion held at Merklcy Park, about 100 people attended. A pot luck dinner was held, visiting and games were played. Millie Hatch has gone to California to spent two weeks with her children there. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dye of Salt Iaikc wen1 here fur a brief visit at the Telinlha Rasmussen and Dale Galley homes. Rcva Whitmore and daughter, Velda, spent the weekend in Salt Lake visiting and shopping. Clinton Dahlberg drove to Salt laike ami brought his brother, Harry home from the hospital. Harry is still in trarlion hut has started to heal. He was in a wreck in Oklahoma over a month ago and was hospitalized there sometime then flown to Salt lake hospital w here he has been for over three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. R. Y. Whitmore have a now granddaughter Isirn August 20, to Mr. and Mrs. Red Whitmore at the St. Benedict hospital in Ogden. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and will be named Katherine after her great grandmother, Katherine Whitmore. Other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Waller Ilale, Tabiona. The Earl Gardners returned Sunday from a two weeks vacation. Their son Gary and family went with them and they both took their travel trailer houses. They visited in Rexhurg, Ida., with Mrs. W. A. Lahrum, a sister to Mrs. Gardner, went through Yellowstone Park and Jarkson Hole, Wyo. At Palasade and Cascade Valleys they visited friends and enjoyed fishing in the Snake River. Joan Evans and children, Brigham City, were here several days visiting at her parents home, the Zane Asays. Joan has been convalescing from a major operation. Visiting for a week with their grandmother, Vonnie Dahlberg, was Linda, Connie and Cindy Dahlberg, Midvale. Celia Kay and sons. Bountiful and Stella Bodily and son. Salt Lake, were here several days visiting at the Cecil Jenkins home and other relatives.
