Show TO MEET GREATER DEMANDS STANDARD Roosevelt, Utah Thursday, May 24, 1078 Addition underway 17 Cycle club now being at Evans Cafe organized Announcement was made this week that a motorryele club, to be known as Siuuw Peak Motorcycle Association, is txiw being formed. An invitation is extended to persons of all ages who might lx interested in cycling, to join in the ' organization. A meeting is to be held at 12 noon Sunday, May 27, at Squaw Peak, located about three miles east of Roosevelt, just north of highway 40. At that time the group will he organized, officers elected, and rules and regulations drawn up. During the afternixin, there will be races, hill climbs and other activities for those present. The group is planning to have meets later with professional racers from the Wasatch Front in attendance. For further information, contact Gary Hurley or Perry Marchanl. Work was started this week un an addition at Evan's Care in Roosevelt, to house a new dining room, and lounge-dune- e area. The 4t)xti5 root structure will be just west of the present building, and will beeome part of a total complex. The older section of the building will lx completely remodeled after the new art is finished. Evan's Cafe, now owned by Tri Ego, Inc., will lx managed by two of the three part ners, George Glines and Glade Mcrk-icy- . The third owner is Morgan Glines, who will manage Steve's Cafe in Itoose-vrl- l, which was also purchased by Tri Ego. The new addition at Evan's will double the floor space, and allow for additional services. The company plans also to remodel Steve's Cafe. EAGLE TALK FROM DUCHESNE ljasl Wednesday several seniors traveled from Durhesne high school to Salt Lake. The day got off to a goixl start when the boys pulled away from the school at 7:45. The Seniors spent until 3:30 at Lagoon. Later they separated and some shopped while others went swimming at the Deseret Gym. At 5:30 they met and ate at the Beach Boy. Following this the Seniors all enjoyed a movie. The group was tired when they arrived home at 12:30. On Friday, the Home Living class traveled to Ameriran Fork and went on a very beneficial tour of the training school. Saturday, Craig Slandsfield, Mark Hall and Jeff Lott participated in the State Track Meet. Next years varsity cheerleaders are Luella Ivie, Brenda Malinski, Judy Moon and Kelly Hurdirk. CAFE BUILDING STARTED Vickie Sursa, left, was named as first place winner of the elementary essay contest "What the American Flag means to Me", sponsored by the Utah Air National Guard, NCO Academy Graduate Association, Chapter IX. Her mother, Mrs. Hobert Sursa, looks on approvingly, as her daughter displays her award and a $25.00 savings bond. Over 90 students in the Roosevelt elementary school participated in the contest. The services were conducted by Bishop David Farnsworth. Prayer in the Relief Society room was given by Bud Holgate. Invocation, Howard Funk. Norma Hansen, Rita Hansen and Lorna Brother son sang two numbers. Bert Ames sang with guitar accompaniment. The speakers were Marv Bell, George Marett and Bishop Farnsworth. The pall bearers were Howard Funk, Gary Goodrich, Michael Johnson, Tom Zaragoza, Kenneth Walker and Stanley Stevenson. The prelude and posllude music was played by Mrs. Bud Holgate. Benediction was offered by Joe Clay burn. Burial was at the Altamont cemetery with Bishop Orlan Oman dedicating the grave. Bishop LaMont Moon and wife, Bishop and Mrs. Bird of Bluebell ward, Mr. and Mrs. Dale, Gines, Mr. and Mrs. Venice Turnbow and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferron Gines accompanied them on this trip. They were joined in Salt Lake by Mr. and Mrs. Lee Patton. The only thing that spoiled the day was as they were returning home and leaving Salt Lake a fellow run a stop light and totaled out their car. They were really more than lucky and blessed that their injuries were not very bad. They received a few cuts and bruises and released. Mrs. Thelma Nye spent Saturday and Sunday in Salt Lake visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ted D. Nye and family and doing some shopping. Mr. and Mrs. Max Giles and family of Draper visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank Defa this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jackson are the parents of s baby boy born May 18 in Ileber City. The little lad weighed 5 lbs. 6'A os. Grandparents are Mr. Jackson in Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Wagstaff. Great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wagstaff and Mr. and Mrs. Mick Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Mick Jensen, SL George returned to their summer home Saturday evening for the summer. We welcome them bark and hope they enjoy the summer with us in good health. Burnell Rhoades returned home this last Wednesday from St. Mark' Hospital, where he spent the last five days undergoing tests. He is improving at this time and hope he is soon well again. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Voda were unable to come to their ranch home this week as planned as their son Eddie hass been ill and nnw has to go into the hospital for more tests.
