Christensens Sidewalk Sale Friday, Saturday For Really Low Prices, Don't Miss This Sale! by Kenneth Adney The use of alarm devices as protection from Intruders Is by no means new. There are historical accounts of various alarms dating from biblical times. The first reeorded alarm consisted of a string of bells running around the premises. Pioneers used to stack pots and pans so that they clattered to the ground if the door was disturbed. If people fought sin as much as they do fat, this would be a moral paradise. Late in the 1800s, the electric burgar alarm made its appearance. It consisted of a wire running from window to window, connected to a bell and battery, which would sound an alarm If any window was opened. Today we have alarms operated transby small, butt istors, which eliminate the need for wires throughout the home. Alarms have also been equipped switches to with sound a warning in ease of Are. ed heat-operat- Even though your home may be well protected by alarms, burglaries are still possible.
