Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jensen, Ogden are the parents of a baby boy, born Jan. 15 His name Is Lex Lawrell and was wel-- " coined home by a brother Scott Mr. and Mrs, Lawrell Jensen the grandparents went to Ogden Jan. 15 where Mrs. Jensen stayed for a week, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Yack were in Salt Lake Monday and Tuesday of last week combining business and pleasure while there they visited wlththelr son Jerry and other relatives. Jerry received a four point average for the winter quarter at the U of U. George Walkup accompanied Mr. and Mrs. William Slaugh to Price last Tuesday to attend the funeral of their sister in law, Mrs. Forest biaugn. Mrs. Wanda McDanlels and family, Orem, spent the weekend with Mrs. Ruth Sprouse. ' Mrs. Agnes Hanks and family traveled to Salt Lake Jan. 15 to meet Bruce Hanks who just returned from Central America where he had been on a mission. Wayne Ward, Orem who has been staying with his grandmother is home. He will enter college at BYU. Tuesday when Frank Yack was returning home from Salt Lake with a load of new furniture, he had the misfortune of tipping over. Mr. Yack wasn't hurt but the funiture was damaged. Norman Blrchell accompanied Ray Labium to Salt Lake on business. Mrs. Barbara Scholes spent last week In Salt Lake with her mother, who is in the hospital. Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce presents ... Mrs. Ferrell Crozler and Charles spent two days in Salt Lake last week. Charles underwent medical checkups. Mrs. Gladys Zimmerman brouitht them home and spent a few days. Marlon Mortensen accompanied Mrs. Bill Case and Mr. and Mrs. George Conn of Duchesne to Huntington to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mortensen over the Paris Bonnie Mortensen, weekend. France, is also visiting with her parents, the Walter Mortensen. Mr. and Mrs. David Labium and Bill were home from school over the weekend. The Duchesne Ward Relief Society will hold their meetings at the American Legion Hall at the regular time starting Tuesday, Feb. 1. The use of marketing alternatives to strengthen the producer's position will be discussed by Ray Finch, of Utah State Mr. Finch will University Extension. present numerous projections of numbers of cattle on feed and the percaplta consumption of beef and pork over the next several years. He will also discuss the futures comodity market and how it can be used to hedge against price fluctuations. Mr. Finch has made several recent trips to the Basin to discuss proposed livestock enterprises here and is very rainlllar with the situation of Basin Livestock producers. Morrell Mathis, Area Livestock Specialist, will present information on the use of protein supplements for range cattle. This topic is also current as there are several new products now on the market designed to Increase the protein in the range cattle diet.
