Monday evening, climaxing the w Meeting at Myton elementary school July 6, were members of the Duchesne county title I parent advisory council and Rosella L. Johnson, director of title I Representing Duchesne high school and serving as chairman of the council Is Veva Tollefson. Members representing the other title I schools are Elda Van Tassell, Myton elementary; Frances Mt. Lion, Duchesne elementary; Ldls Bird, Roosevelt elementary; and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Summarell, Roosevelt Junior high. Since parent Involvement Is deemed to be an Important means of Increasing the effectiveness of programs funded under title I of the 1965 elementary and secondary education, these members of the council reviewed copies of the 1970-7- 1 project evaluation and the 1971-7- 2 project proposal and discussed the services being provided for children. Suggestions were made for utilizing parental assistance In providing educational programs to more fully meet the needs of Duchesne Countys Title I students . Council members were also furnished with State and Federal regulations and guidelines relating to title I projects. Other Items of business Included the Indian dancing was the order of the day, as the Bottle Hollow motif was background for dancers warming up for competition eliminations. Each eligible school district submits a project proposal to the State office outlining a program to meet a priority of needs which have been Identified by the local educators and parents. Some 1,500 adult Scouters and 6,000 members of their families will study-vacatialso visit the Ranch for week-loconferences with national Scout 12-d- ay leaders.
