They were Just returning from their vacation up thru the Dakotas and had seen the "Passion Play" at S. Dakota and visited her grandmother, Mrs. Alice L. Angus at Green River, Wyo. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Peterson and 2 children of Denver, Colo., visited her grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Perry during the week. They had visited her parents the Clyde Walqulsts at Salt Lake. Clifford Merkley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Merkley spoke in Sacrament meeting Sunday night. He had just returned from Texas on a 2 year mission for the LDS Church. Merrill Rasmussen was the other visiMat- hews. Mr. and Mrs. David Jenkins spent the weekend In Craig, Colo., visiting the Frank speaker. The 3 grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Kumps. Mr, and Mrs. Lamar Hair and children of Los Angeles, Calif., visited with his aunt, Mrs. Lillian Bigelow on Friday. Duchesne wards plan July 24th celebration Duchesne First and Second wards will sponsor a July 24th celebration. There will be a miniature parade, games and a smorgasbord dinner served at the park that evening. This will be followed by fireworks and a dance. Businesses and individuals of the community are Invited to start planning floats now for the miniature parade. Everyone Is welcome to participate. wedding held Mathews-Bryso- n Miss Lee Anna Mathews and Daniel L. Bryson were married June 12, in the Roosevelt Stake Center. Bishop Byron Gilbert performed the double ring ceremony. The bride Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude L. Mathews, and the groom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bryson all of Roosevelt. Mrs. Ken La Rose played the wedding march. Relatives and close friends witnessed the ceremony. The young couple was honored at a reception following the ceremony In the cultural hall. The white picket fence decorated with pink ribbons and bows with two doves formed the back drop flanked by big baskets of peonies. The bride was given away in marriage, by her father. She wore a floor length dress of fine nylon net over taffeta the top was nylon lace covered, empire-styl- e with a high neck. The long sleeves were fitted lace around the wrist. The long train was fastened above the waist with two tiny bows fastened with little pearls. She wore a matching shoulder length veil. She carried a bouquet of pink pom poms surrounded with white daisies with pink lace and white ribbons. Lee Anna chose as her matron of honor, Mrs. Greg Timothy. Her bridesmaids were Mrs. Robert Hunt, Miss Kim Flower Thacker, Miss Kim Bryson. girl was Miss Sue Mathews. Their dresses were made of white with pink daisy back ground and pink ribbons and bows. Their bouquets were pink daisies with pink ribbons tied with wedding rings. The mothers wore a double knit pink dress with white corsages. Kerry Dee Mathews, brother of the bride, performed duties of best man. Ushers were Greg Timothy and Robert Hunt. Miss Karel DeVerles presided at the guest book. In charge of the gifts were Miss Janet Womack, Miss Pam Hancock, Miss Geneal Bird. Those In charge of serving were Mrs. Sherm Sorenson, Mrs. Barbara Sc holes, Mrs. Jim Latimer, Mrs. Arnold Koskl. Serving girls were Judy Scholes, Denlese Mathews, Carlene Harwood, Debbie Mathews, Janna Mathews, Cherise Mathews. Gift bearers were Dan Mathews, Jimmy Bryson, Brent Scholes. Alton Thacker was master of ceremonies for a program consisting of a dance by Miss Adele Thacker, song by Mrs. Don Davies, Mrs. Blaine Peek, Mrs. Barry Jensen. Song by Mr. Burt nano solo by Miss RaeAnn Ames. Scholes. Trumpet solo by Scott Mathews. The three tiered white frosted cake trimmed with pink roses silver wedding rings. Lace bells outlined with frosting were placed on a mirror. For her going away outfit the bride wore a navy blue and white slack suit. The young couple Is making a home In Roosevelt. Their section, folk dancing, was voted best performance and Included the Hopak, a Russian community dance and Bary Mee, an American Square Dance. Choreography was by Mary Bee Jensen and dance Instruction was by James Jex of Alpine. Costumes were orange skirts with white blouses. The program of the Institute Is designed to accept students at the sophomore or junior level at freshman, ASU. Graduates of the program will receive a bachelor's degree in education with a minor In school library media. The Institute will begin Instruction on September 13, 1971, and the summer Internship will end August 14, 1972, For the fifteen students accepted Into the program, a stipend of $75 week of the academic year will be per provided.
