Members were reminded of the valentine party to be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Amerlcar Legion Hall. This will be to Initiate the new members Into the club and also to entertain the husbands. Terry Cowan will represent the Mother's club on the Beautification program for Duchesne City. A Book Report given by Susana Doty titled The Seekers" about dope and drugs. Dental Poster winners named at Union High Sixteen finalists were chosen recently at Union high school for their entries In the Dental Health Poster at an assembly 131 posters were entered from held. classes taught by Mrs. Elaine Krlssman. One poster was entered from the classes taught by Mr. E. N. McGehee making a total of 132. All sixteen finalist were presented with certificates of honorable mention by Dr. Dale Larsen and Dr. Don Mantyla. The three top winners will be presented with Electric toothbrushes. First place winner was Brad Monks the son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Monks. Second place was Karen Shlsler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Shlsler. Third place was Patricia Hall, Charles Richardson awarded bronze star 4 Charles H. Sp4 of the Richardson, In Vietnam was recently awarded the Bronze Star with ,,V device. In making the award his commanding officer said that Specialist four, Richardson distinguished himself by exceptional heroism In connection with ground operations against an armed hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam on Kov. 27, 19C9 while assigned to Co. The Utah Dental Assn, will provide prize money for the winners of this state contest In Dental Health. Four state winners were chosen last year and Adrienne Shlsler from Union high was presented with a $10 award. These winning will be displayed throughout the USA as an example of what young students In Utah can do in this field. Every year book marks and book covers are printed from some of these finalist posters. This year Nila Bolton's poster If Your Teeth are Clean, Nothing Else Matters" was made Into bookmarks. Bookmarks have been purchased and distributed to every school In the district so that each student can have one. Junior-Senio- Diane Miles engaged to LaVon R. Giles Mr. and Airs, Robert Miles of Altamont announce the engagement of their daughter, Diane, to Mr. LaVon R. Giles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Giles, of Tabiona. Miss Miles graduated from Altamont high school In 19G9, was a cheerleader 2 years, pep club president, honor student 4 years, Seminary post graduate, Sweetheart Queen, Miss UBIC attendant, FFA Sweetheart, Miss Duchesne County Fair. Attended Brigham YoungUniversity on scholarship for Best Actress In Utah Class B" high schools. Class officer 3 years. Mr. Giles graduated from Tabiona high school In 19G7 . He was a main player on Tablona's basketball team, and was given the Play maker Award" for 2 years. He was a four-ye- ar Seminary graduate, Athletic King, and also served as Studentbody president In 19G7. LaVon attended Snow College for 2 years, and is presently a junior at Utah State University. They will be married May 28 In the Salt Lake Temple. Socialette Club meets, discusses junior club Plans were made to organize a Junior dub of the Federation of Womens dulis Roosevelt Thursday evening. Members of the Roosevelt Socialette Club met at the Junior high school and Mrs. Duane Ridiens brought guests. conducted a short business meeting. Mrs. Wendell O. Winger, State Federated Womens Club president, and her corresponding secretary, Mrs, Earl Goates, were special guests. Mrs. Winger talked No Alan Is an Island," on the subject, and told about the accomplishments of various clubs. In making plans to organize the Junior club Mrs. Mark Peterson was named chairman of the new club until they get organized and hold elections. Mrs. Winger said that the purpose of Federated clubs was for Fun, Friendship and Fulfillment. Light refreshments were served. In Verna Jean Hackford marries Blaine Casper son of Mr. and Mrs. Darreld Casper, Tabiona. They were married by Bishop K. David Roberts with Vickie Hackford as matron of honor and Bobby Jay as best man. The bride wore a white satin accented with white appllqued design and a shoulder length veil. She carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations with pink ribbons. The matron of honor wore a pink formal with pink and white corsage. The bride's mother wore a yellow two piece bonded knit suit. The mother of the bridegroom wore a tan lace dress trimmed in gold and both wore pink and white Miss Verna Jean Hackford liecame the of Blaine Casper in a ceremony at Tabiona high school performed February 7. The bride la a daughter of Lyle and Shirley Hackford and the bridegroom Is a bride la-zen- corsages. The wedding cake was white trimmed with pink. The hall was decorated In pink and white flowers and bells. In charge of serving was Mrs. Zelma Lazenby, Mrs. Nina Glnes and Vickie Sweat. Connie and Carol Lazenby were In charge of the gifts. Miss Denise Sweat was at the guest book. Lavere Turnbow emceed the program consisting of a duet by Boh and Renee Parks, a song by Juvon Fabrlzio, accor-dla- n solo by Carol Junes, a song by Alax Excell accompanied by Glenda. A song by Alarsha and Alarvln Turnlmw, Jan Giles accompanied by Florence Turnbow. A skit by Jill Fabrlzio and Bobbie Smith. A duet by WHda Wadley. Carla Lewis, arcompanled by Flnrenre Turnbow. After the wedding a dance was held and they received many wonderful gifts. There was many that enjoyed the dance played by the String Ties.
