Both teams looked good, and although Myton pulled quite a ways ahead at one time, a last minute rally by Lapolnt almost upset them. The final score: Myton 47, Lapolnt 45. The Consolation Trophy was sponsored by L A L Motor, with Lynn Lab rum making the presentation. In the other two games of the evening, Tridell and a team from the Whlterocks Mission battled it out for 3rd position, and Maeser and B were working for 7th and 8th place. During the game for 3rd position, Whlterocks seemed to have trouble breaking through the Tridell defense and although they put in some beautiful shots from way out, the final score read Tridell 57 and Whlterocks 29. Third Place Trophy, sponsored by Modem Drug, was presented to Tridell by Reed McKee. The first game of the evening between Lapolnt B and Maeser was another interesting game, with Lapolnt finally defeating Maeser 40 to 29. The Maeser team was chosen as the winner of the Sportsmanship trophy. During the three days of play, they seemed always to give their best effort even though they appeared to be outclassed at Page by Louise Jorgensen ( college members students, missionaries etc.,) who return for the holidays. In the beginning of the 4th, Neola came out fired up to win and Terry Bastion drew more than the normal number of fouls from the Roosevelt players. These points from the line, plus some good team plays made Neola the winner of the tournament by a score of 52 to 46.
