Elect Hoover, Bamberger, Wattis, Colton, Leatherwood JTAHS WELFARE, as everyone knows, is best assured when Republican policies govern the nation. And this calls for not only a Republican president, but also a Republican majority in of Representatives Colton and Leatherwood, therefore, is not only merited by these earnest workers on their splendid records, but is also of great importance in assuring a continued Republican majority at Washington. To further advance Utahs interests, to make Utahs voice in the Senate effective, to aid Reed Smoot, acknowledged to be one of the nations greatest Senators, we need to elect Ernest Bamberger to the United States Senate. And this hinges on the election of our next governor. Consider these facts: The election of a Republican Governor is of vital importance to Utah and to the Nation. The law provides that in the event of a vacancy in the United States Senate, the position shall be filled by the governor. Who would Governor Dern, if reelected, appoint to fill the vacancy if anything should happen to Senator Smoot? He would, of course, appoint a Democrat. What a travesty it would be to have a Democratic Senator suc- ceed Utahs illustrious senior Senator! Ejection of William II. Wattis will safeguard Utah against such a possibility.
