Jack Arnould proved the sensational in an aviation stunt at Saltair last Sunday. His successful parachute jump was witnessed by several thousand people and was performed in plain view of all present at the resort. It was his eighty-thir- d attempt. Fresh Air s Nearly 1,000 telephone men and women residing in the city of Detroit g have united in a crusade to which they are to lend their bined and individual active and moral support, in an effort to solve the very serious traffic problem in the city. ; This campaign which was inaugurated in March of this year by the drivers of the Michigan Bell Telephone companys motor vehicles in Detroit, not only is ing wide attention, but is gaining momentum constantly. Scores ...of telephone people who drive personal cars only have added impetus to the effort by voluntarily signing the pledge to drive safely. This pledge was drawn up by the various drivers at the beginning of the campaign and came at a time when Detroits traffic situa-tio- n had reached a crucial stage. The pledge has been signed by 454 drivers whose duties in connection with telephone work requires them, either regularly or occasionally, to drive motor vehicles through the streets of De- safe-drivi- ng troit. The pledge covers the following points: 1. To observe traffic regulations. 2. To drive carefully. 3. To let those pass who wish to do so. 4. To give pedestrians, particular ly children and' elderly persons, opportunity to cross the street in safety. 5. To render assistance and first aid in emergencies.
