Genl. Hines arrived in Salt Lake at 8:15 Wednesday morning and wns met by Col. McCaskey. A general review took place immediately upon their arrival at the Post. Col. and Mrs. McCaskey entertained later at an informal luncheon. In the evening a dinner dance was given at the Post Hall in honor of Genl. Hines, Genl. Van . Deman and Col. Singleton. The officers at the Post engaged tables apd invited their own guests for the 'evening! Col. and Mrs. McCaskey had as Jheir .guests Governor and Mrs. Pern,.., Adjutant Genl. and Mrs. Williams of the National Guard, Major Genl. Hines, Brig. Genl. Van Deman, Col. Singleton, Col. and Mrs. Boughton, Capt. and Mrs. Schuyler, Capt. and Mrs. McCoskire, and Miss McAndrews. Professional artists entertained the guests during dinner. A general reception and dance followed. A luncheon was given by Col. and Mrs. McCook at the Hotel Utah in honor of Genl. Hines, Genl. Van Deman and Col. Singleton. Thursday evening a dinner was enjoyed at the Chamber of Commerce.
