ANNIE LAURIE HAS THEM COMING TO PANTAGES the feature picture at the Pantages this week, is making a big hit and Manager Pemberton is presenting it in the most attractive manner. Everyone knows this famous and historical Scotch song around which a scenario has been written of the fighting Scotch clans and their fortified mountain retreats and castles. There is a feud between the Campbells and the McDonalds, the leading parts of wihch are taken by a super cast of screen stars, supporting Lillian Gish, who takes the role of Annie Laurie. The story is beautifully worked out in picturesque scenery, beautiful Scotch lassies and sturdy laddies, in a series of thrills of love, battles and Scotch athletic games. The early days of Bonnie Scotland, her peoAnnie Laurie, ple, manners and customs, are vividly brought out, and the picture is a classic of the screen with unanimous endorsement and approval of all who see it. Thelma Clark Brown, an accomplishment sopranoist, sings Annie Laurie, as a prologue, fn a clear and well trained voice. .There are five vaudeville acts, the first number being presented by Romas Troupe, in funsters and whirlwind follies of 1927. This is a creole and blackface act presenting humor at its best, with jokes, story telling, singing and dancing. Henry Kink, famous as an author and composer of many successful songs and revues, is here in person, and sings some of his latest hits, which are greatly appreciated and he is given a big hand. Fred Henderson and company is a very classy. act In which' pretty girls, lavish costumes and beautiful stage scenery combines to favorably Impress the audience in new dances, singing, jokes and stage rehearsing. The act is well and entertainingly presented and goes over big. Fields and Johnson, just two of the boys, make a big hit with their comedy, Jokes and songs, and they appear to touch the right spot in hilarity.
