Show THE CITIZEN 10 ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION. The Utah Chapter of the Associated Contractors of America, in its weekly report, shows the following improvements and projects contemplated and under way: The State Road Commission of the State of Utah will receive bids at their office in the State Capitol until 2 oclock September 2nd, for the construction of 7.17 miles of highway in Grand County between Nash Wash and Cisco. The construction of seven wood bridges is also included in this project. Sealed bids will be received by the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation at Denver, Colorado, until 3 p. m., September 20th, for furnishing 3 ft. x 3 ft. high pressure emergency gates and 2 50 ft, riveted plate steel outlet pipes for Stony Gorge dam, Orland project, California. The Union Pacific railroad has applied to the Interstate Commerce Commission for authority to construct 54 miles of branch line in the state of Wyoming. The state highway department of the State of Nevada will receive bids at the office of the commission in Car-so- n City until 2 oclock p. m. August 31st, for the construction of 10.42 miles of highway in Churchill County. The estimated quantities are as follows: 20,300 cubic yards unclassified excavation, 64s000 cubic yards selected material for sub base, 23,000 cubic yards gravel surface in place, etc. Sealed bids will be received at the office of the State Road Commission of the State of Utah until 2 oclock p. m., September 2nd, for the construction of two steel bridges over the Strawberry river near Duchesne. Estimated amount of steel for this construction is 70 tons. The Wheelwright Construction Co. was low bidder on sewer No. 154, Ogden City, with a bid of $9,071. This company is a member of the A. G. C. J. L. Griffith was low bidder on the paving from 21st to 3rd South street on which bids were opened Monday; his bid was $48,884.12. Christensen, Jacob and Gardner was low bidder on the 33rd South paving, with a bid of $54,000. Both of these firms are members of the A. G. C. The General Construction Co. of Spokane was low bidder on 23 miles of railroad for the Owyhee project in Oregon being cosstructcd by the U. S. reclamation service.
