It is not the phase of bombast or bluster, nor of militarism, but the fine, free, confident expression of confidence in and fidelity to all that America should mean to the millions who are sheltered under the protecting folds of its incomparable banner. Cincinnati Enquirer. - . O Manager Andy Christensen throws open the gates of Lagoon today, tlie official opening of the resort for the summer season. More gorgeous and " captivating than ever, this beautiful resort with its green lawns dotted with numerous fragrant flower beds, numerous amusement features, boat ing and swimming in a large fresh water lake, nestling at the foot of the Wasatch range of mountains from which the cool breezes continually drive the hot summer air from this re sort. Bigger and better than ever, with many added attractions, is in store for the thousands of patrons of this pretty resort which has become known as the Coney Island of the West. It is a most wonderful place to spend a holiday, where all manner of amusements may be had, including fresh water swimming and the best bass fishing in the state of Utah. Those who do not like to swim or fish may interest themselves in walking Charlie, miniature railway, shoot the chutes, dipper, merry mixup, merry go round, shooting gallery, fun house, captive airplane, baby plane pocket billiards and other amusements features in which the old as well as the young can have a lot of fun. Those who are adverse to carrying lunches will find ever ready and prompt service at the cafe and refreshment stands just a round of eats and fun for all who wish to get away from work and the hot city streets to enjoy a real day's outing. In the evenings there is continual music for those who love to dance, in a large open air dance hall, having one of the finest floors it is possible to lay. There will be special train service from Salt Lake and Ogden at 35 cents for the round trip. Those who have automobiles will be admitted for 50 cents per car. Those who desire to make arrangements for special excursions to the sort,' will find Manager Christensen at the Newhouse building ready and willing to attend to all their wants. . The Lagoon horse Taces will close Monday afternoon, finishing one of the most successful race meetings ever held in the state. Many of the best horses of the west and Canada have been seen on ' this track during the twenty-da- y meeting. The races have been conducted un-'- r the best of management and Dava county people are delighted with the financial results obtained because of the races. In no way has Manager Dandurand overlooked the accommodation of the public and all convenience was provided for the many guests that daily visited the track. The Lagoon farmers are several thousand dollars ahead because of the races and they all say they want another race meeting next year. : A .
