Show THE CITIZEN 18 With the First Nighters FEATURE BILL PRESENTED AT THE PANTAGES THEATRE merit is presented at the Fantages theatre this week by Manager Ed. S. Diamond for the entertainment of its patrons. The feature of the bill is probably George S. Frederick and company in The Conductor, in which cast are Rita Dortch, Clifford Mack, George A bill of unusual Duthie and George S. Fredericks.. Miss Dortch and Mack elope to be married. Both are under age. An irate father overtakes them by boarding the same train. The conductor is wise and the young people are given a stateroom. The father appears and the young people claim they do not know him and the conductor calls the old man down for trying to flirt with the young girl. There are several thrilling situations greatly enjoyed by the audience. The scenery is beautifully illustrated in a night ride through pretty mountainous scenery in motion. The moon is trying to peep through heavy and rolling clouds. It is a scene seldom reproduced upon the stage and it is pronounced wonderful by all who see it. The Vardell Brothers, two gymnasts, thrill the audience with their work. One of the men has the strength of a giant. A high dive by one of them from a high perch to a toboggan and then a slide into the air where the diver hooks his feet upon the feet of his brother who swings by his hands from a trapeze is a sensational performance, daring and very dangerous. The Gibson Sisters, two pretty girls, in Youth, Beauty and Grace, sing, toe and clog dance and kick in a pleasing and taking act. Harry Bentel and Helen Gould, a small but accomplished lass, in Dam dance while they play. The Xyl rope jumping dance is pleasing, Bern tel executes steps of various nationalities while playing the xylophone, a new departure from the usual. Rowland and Meehan, two golfists, meet at the club house, the - scene showing a pretty green gold course, where they get into several arguments and chatter to the amusement of the audience. One signs in a clear tenor voice, There is a Tear in Your Eye, which is pleasing. Sam Hyames and Clara Louise Evans in '"The Quakeress meet at a stage door, both anxious to become actors. They show each other their She is an attractive qualifications. girl and he is a clumsy youth who bumps into the scenery and pulls it down on top of him. They sing and chatter and provide lots of fun for the audience. Vanitys Price is the feature picture in which Robert Bolder, Cessy Fitzgerald, Anna Q. Uilsson, Sylvia Grayson, Wyndham Standing, Arthur Rankin and Lucille Ricksen take the leading roles. The picture shows the results secured by those who vrould bring about artificial changes in their bodies by attempting through science to make the old body young again. It is a picture worth while and one which contains a thrilling love scene. This show concludes next Tuesday night with a new bill coming next Wednesday afternoon. NAZIMOVA IN STIRRING FILM AT AMERICAN THEATRE ts, Picture lovers have a treat at the American theatre this week, where the Vitagraph picture, The Redeem- ing Sin, opens today for a weeks run. Nazimova is the star of this production, and Nazimova is at her superlative best. The celebrated actress plays the role of a queen of the Paris Apaches, a parts that gives her an excellent opportunity to display her remarkable emotional powers and her decided talent as a dancer. All the scenes are laid in Paris, the story having to do with an underworld gang in the French capital. The girl renounces her sordid lift when she meets and is fascinated by a young aristocrat. Her reformation ends, though, when she discovers this man embracing another girl. This girl proves to be his sister, but Joan (Nazimova) does not know it at the time. Lupine, the Apacht leader, is madly in love with Joan, and to appease her he steals a wonderful pearl necklace for her. He asks that these be returned to their owner, however, and PreduretTOrtrltuana Orpneum this week. Lupine, much against his will, folk her request.
