Famous Amusement and Bathing sort Adds Many Attractive Fun Re- Features. a All is set for the big opening of Salt-ai- r on Decoration day. New improvements, new amusements new fun teasers of all kinds are ready to make the summer sports season gay and gleaming. The new Fun House promises to be among the most popular of the new pleasure devices. Built along similar plans and by the same engineering company as the fun house at Venice, California, it boasts rides, wheels and thrills of the most riotous. While the new Iteverser is the most giddy and vigorous albeit thoroughly safe device of its type ever added to Saltairs equipment. And a new mill has been built to contribute to the fun .at the resort. All other amusements have been completely overhauled and plac- ed In the best of condition for the new . season. . Attractive Features. Patrons of the resort will also be delighted with improvements and renovations in the general equipment. New paint in the lunching pavilion-adda gay and fresh charm that invites picknickers, while the spaqe has' been increased and obstructions re-moved to accommodate the larger crowds. Donald Kirkham, who has just returned from the Pacific Coast bringing his popular Novelty Orchestra to Lagoon again this season. MANY NEW ATTRACTIONS ARE ADDED TO LAGOON RESORT. Christensen Secures Equipment for Childrens Manager New Playground. With many new attractions in anticipation of a record attendance this season, Lagoon will open officially on May 30, according to the announcement of A. C. Christensen, manager of the resort. This year will mark the twentieth successive season of the resort. Each year has marked an advance in the beauty and attractiveness of Lagoon, and in its popularity. Attendance records in 1922 exceeded e c all expectations of the management, declares Mr. Christensen, and it is expected that this season will be even more successful. In order to make the resort a childrens paradise, Mr. Christensen has added new equipment to the playgrounds, and he wishes to emphasize that the children are welcome to use all of the apparatus free of charge. The spacious lawns and well equipped playgrounds make Lagoon the ideal place to bring children for a summer outing, and hundreds come to the resort every day from Salt Lake, Davis and Weber counties. Another, innovation which will appeal to the visitors at the resort, is the newly constructed Fun House, which has been arranged, at a cost of according to Mr. Christensen, in the building formerly occupied by the cafe. This season the cafe. will be located near the automobile entrance, and will cater to high class trade. $20,-00- 0, The fun house is similar to the one in Coney Island at Steeple Chase pier. The building of the resort have all been painted, the trees trimmed, and th entire grounds remodeled. Lagoon is now a haven of beauty, with the grass in excellent condition and the flowers all in bloom. Kirkham Returns. Donald Kirkham is returning to the resort again this year as leader of the Novelty popular novelty orchestra. music will again be featured, and several new additions have been made to the personnel of the orchestra. Mr. Kirkham has just returned from the Pacific coast where he has spent the winter playing and securing new amusement ideas for the entertainment of the dancers at Lagoon. The change in tempo at each encore will be continued, this feature having proved very popular last season. The dance floor has been put in excellent condition. Several surprises are in store for the bathers at the resort, Mr. Christensen states. A cement walk has been laid from the bath houses to the pool, so that the bathers need have no fear of slivers. A carload of new beach sand has been placed at Waikiki Beach. Lagoon is tho only resort in this section of the country which can be reached by a paved road, and therefore it is very popular with automobile parties. The parking space at Lagoon accommodates about 3,000 cars and traffic congestion is seldom experienced. Last year on July 4th, when the largest crowds in tho history of Lagoon visited tho resort, the attendance being about 30,000, tho au Bathing at Saltair Resort.
