The .kiddies of the Northeast bench are assured of a playground for. at least the next 'five years, which has been secured through the untiring efforts of Mrs. Walter Hurd and many of the ladies residing in the vicinity of the proposed new playground. .The playground is situated between Seventh and Eleventh avenues and between M and N streets, and was formerly known as the Lindsay Gardens. A lease has been secured from George Auerbach. A mass meeting will be held in the near future to evolve plans for dividing the new park. A baseball diamond, a playground and drinking fountains will be put in some time during the month. A working committee will no. doubt be elected or selected at the . mass meeting to take charge of the grounds and to provide and designate suitable areas for the various games to be installed. This will be the only playground in that part of the city and the people . . will surely appreciate it. Interested parties have been working, for the past two years trying to secure. this park and they are to be congratulated for their success.
