Coach Diek Romneys Utah Aggie griddero will meet the University of Southern California in the first game of the season for either school on September 29th, but Coach .Pop Warner of Stanford has warned the farmer coach against expecting to make-- widely heralded upset against the Trojans. Warner was the chief figure at the Aggie coaching school laat week, and spent a great deal of time with Romney talking over the coming game with Pops! conference rivals. He continually reiterated the statement that Romney should not try to bring his men to form in order to make a great try at winning the game, but that he should consider it just an early season one.' Warner praised the football played at Southern California as well aa their coach, Howard Jones. The Trojans are always dangerous, and since the latter has been there they have always been ranked with the first ten team in the country. Next year the great Drurv will be missing, but Jesse Hibbs all American tackle last year will eaptain the team. In Warners opinion they will have a great, one that will be going strong .from the start would be foolish of the season. according to him for the Aggies to attempt to do the next to impossible, orobably ruining their season, all for a mid-seaso- n It Chiropractor a little passing glory. At any rate Coach Romney will get his football men back to camp early. It will probably open about September 6th. In addition to the early California trip he has a tremendous problem on his hands, as seven of his regulars of last year will not return. Three other letter men will he among the missing. Two backs, Smart and Worthington, and two lineman, Beige-so- n and Jensen, are all that are left of the team that started against Utah last year. Among tbe absentees will be Linford, Gibbons and Martindala all conference men and Hawley, who was one of the best backs in the conference last year. From these four regulars and these substitutes Romney is to build this years team, Gardner, Judah, Sorensen, Dahle, Welsh, Sparks and Wade. Call add Vanderhoof, two other squad members who failed to win a letter, are also probably regulars. The rest of the. team will have to be drawn from squad members of last year and the freshmen. The latter material seemed to' have possibilities and Romney hopes to find four or five regulars in the group. Ilis line will take a lot of filling and he needs a good fullback with no one in sight and a bark who ran pass and kick.
