Show County Fair Sets Dates For September 5 6 6 The Sanpete County Fair Fan under un der the same ma management as last year will be held September 5 and 6 6 This word came from Ray flay Bohne fair board chairman following the first meeting of the board last week Douglas Jorgensen Jorgen Jorgen- sen will again serve as secretary secretary- treasurer and the Lions Clubs of the county will furnish major portions of the board members The first board meeting brought much from all members members mem mem- bers present and Lions who work worked ed on the Fair last year were on hand to again offer their services services ser ser- services vices for the fair work Lining up the entertainment for the fair was the first order of business as the the board board began to act and they have secured a full program to offer the public The Parley Willard Rodeo the same group which appeared last year will vill perform both nights and there will be special feature acts with the rodeo Stock Car Races which proved very successful last year will again be p part rt of the fair program programs with races both afternoons The races on the second day will include Include in include In- In clude Powder Puff Puffs events with wo women en drivers Filling out the program of en entertainment entertainment entertainment en- en and events will be bethe bethe bethe the H 4 Club Show performances by the riding clubs a talent show and horse show Limit o On Books T This is Year The Hospitality Books used last year to admit an entire family family family fam fam- ily for one low price will will be used again this year but there will be a limited quantity avaIlable available available avail avaIl- able on a a first-come first served first basis Overflow crowds last year caused some grief with the bargain bargain bargain bar bar- gain books hence ence this limit Two events will receive special attention in the 1958 Fair These are the parade and t the e exhibits The parade this year will truly be a Mammoth parade with more money to be to this department in the fair planning planning plan plan- ning according to board mem mem- bers Editors Editor's Note It will have to be something to surpass last years year's para parade e handled by Ehner Eimer Nielson Last year the exhibits received little or no attention until just justa a month before b fore the fair so were somewhat disappointing in a few departments This year the ex exI exhibit exhibit ex- ex hibit chairmen are already at at I work wort lining up items for their various departments I |
