Show GREW ME conference the regular quarterly conference of the curlew stake convened saturday and sunday february 3rd ard and ath in the meeting house at snow ville utah there were no visitors in attendance from salt lake city and reliance was placed on local brethren the attendance was very gratifying considering the tha amount or of snow on the ground the condition of the th roads and weather while the latter I 1 was clear it was also very cold and obviated the prospect ot of many being in attendance from the far western land and northern wards six of the ten wards were represented and a general good time was had in all five general meetings were held with an abundance of spirit and feeling manifest the speakers were well attuned with the spirit of the occasion and the instructions given were of the nature calculated to accomplish the greatest amount of good and to instill within the minds and hearts of the listeners a greater desire to fulfill the duties and accomplish the responsibilities that devolve upon each some changes were made in the pers onel of some of the organizations notably in the high priests quorum which owing g to the retirement of president heber A holbrook was disorganized hulbert B D robbins was chosen to fill the vacancy and it Is expected that the quorum will be spurred up to greater activity by reason ot of the change the promotion of dishop bishop robbins created a vacancy in the bishopric ot of the stone ward and elder eider andrew P petersen was chosen as the new bishop with william R gunderson bunderson and william ray roe as counselors while it Is to be regretted that none of 0 the general authorities were in attendance it is perhaps a good tiling thing that we are occasionally thrown on our own resources and made to depend more on the spirit ot of inspiration the singing throughout the conference was furnished by the following wards black pine Snow snowville ville and stone wards with a solo by charles gunnell of howell II owell and in addition to the regular singing which was furnished by the stone ward choir were rendered by members from the above mentioned wards |
