Hoffmann, and delivered to plaintiff the 12th day of August, 1896, at Salt Lake City, Utah, for 8500.00, with interest at the rate of eight (8) per cent per annum from date before and after judgement, same being now due and wholly unpaid, save $260.00 as interest on said notes as above stated, and being secured by a mortgage of even date on the premises herein after described, executed by defendants, William L. Hoffmann and Pauline L. Hoffmann, and deliver to the plaintiff, plaintiff being now the legal holder thereof, to have and to hold the usual decree of this court for the foreclosure of said mortgage and for sale of said premises, adjudging that the proceeds of the sale be applied in payment of the amounts due as above, that the defendants and all persons claiming under them or either of them be barred and foreclosed off and from all claim of equity or redemption in said premises, and that plaintiff have a deficiency judgement against the said defendants, William L. Hoffmann and Pauline L. That Section 55 of Chapter 26 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1892, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 55. It shall be unlawful for the proprietor, agent, lessee, occupant, engineer, or fireman of any building in which a boiler is or may be used for generating steam or electricity, or for any other purpose, to permit or allow smoke to issue or be emitted from the chimney or chimneys of such buiding, used in connection with such boier, within the corporate limits of Salt Lake City. Any proprietor, lessee, occupant, en gineer or fireman who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than five 85.00) dollars, nor more than fifty (850.00) dollars; provided, however, that the penalty herein provided shall not apply in any case where the fireman, engineer, owner, lessee, or occupant has supplied such building with and shall have in use a sufficient device for the consumption or prevention of smoke; and provided, further, that this ordinace shall be held to apply only to such buildings in which Notice is hereby given by C.
