There are other evils here which should be corrected. The street car system is rotten to the core and something must be done to of-Sa- lt alleviate the inconveniences which are constantly being forced upon a patient and long suffering public. It is the province of an independent newspaper like this to assist the taxpayers and patrons of the road to bring to terms those who decline to do what is right, and Truth is to hammer at this subject until going relief is afforded and the people receive all they are entitled to receive. The people have come to look upon Truth as the only paper which goes right ahead, hews to the line, let tho chips fall where they may. The city councilmen who voted against this measure may have had good reasons for so doing and they may not. If they had, they failed to state them. This should not be charged against them, however.
