He was born March 21, 1905, at Craig, Colo., to Chancey Elanca and Sarah Hanna Crapo Synder. He married Lenora Jane Rhoades in May of 1924 in Duchesne. She died in 1969. He married Margaret Mildred McCarrel Baldwin on Feb. 7, 1973. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. He worked for a number of years for the in Institute Carnegie archeology explorations in this area and was a farmer for many years.
