Show STANDARD Sepfmbw Manti Temple rites unite young couple 1, 1977 St Helens Catholic church news Registration for CCD classes will be held Sept. 7th between 4 and 5 o'clock p.m. in the rectory basement. Books cost $6.00 per child and payment should be made at this time. Classes will begin Sept 14th and 15th. The following schedule will be in effect: Wednesdays grades one (1); six (6): seven (7); eight (8); nine (9). Thursdays p.m. grades two (2); three (3); four (4); five (5). The winter Mass schedule will be in 4-- 4-- 5 effect on Sunday, Sept., 4th. Sunday Masses will revert to the following times: Saturday 6:30 p.m. Sunday, 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. St. Helen's Women's Club will hold its first meeting of the year Thursday, Sept., 8th at 7:30 p.m. in the rectory basement Meeting hostess will be Alice Bachmier. Club handbooks will be available at this time and the years activities discussed. Barbara Smith is in charge of the church cleaning for the month of September and Wilta Crum bo is in charge of church linens for September. The annual Parish Picnic will be held Sunday, Sept., 11th at'thecity park. A notice is in the foyer of the church listing items to bring. Ryan Duane Pettingill became a member of the St Helen Parish family after the 10 o'clock Mass Sunday, Aug. 21st He is the infant son of Tom and Jeanne Pettingill of Duchesne. Members of the parish have extended a welcome to Don Shelton's feted on 50th anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Don Shelton, Roosevelt, were feted at an open house August 20 in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. Children and grandchildren of the Sheltons surprised their parents at their home where they enjoyed cake and ice cream. Bouquets of roses, carnations and daisies decorated the Shelton residence. Die Sheltons were married August 20, 1927 and are the parents of four children, 25 grand children and 3 great grandchild- ren. Attending the open house were Geneii Morgan and 2 daughters of Ogden; Darrell, Steven and David Wardell, Salt lake; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shelton, Vernal and Betty Mecham and family, Roosevelt. 44ospttoIUotes members attend Moon family reunion 100 than 100 members of the Henry family attended a family reunion Aug. 20 at the Murray City Park. Highlights of the reunion were displays of an old family Bible and two brass rubbings which had been made at the church in Eccelston, England, where many of the Moon ancestors are buried. Helen Severson was chosen as president of the group for the coming year, with Milton Moon as second vice president. This years president, Elmer Moon conducted the meeting. Emma T. Moon directed the exchange of genealogy, Steve LaPray, Marilyn and Donnette Moon directed games, and a picnic lunch Miss Jennett Bishop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Bishop of Payson, and Ivan Clark Labrum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Labrum of Roosevelt, were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony at the Manti LDS Temple Aug. 17. Temple President Daniels presided. A wedding breakfast was held at the Snow College Institute at Ephraim. The rpunle was honored at a garden reception at the home of the bride's parents in Payson Aug. 17, and an open house was held at the home of groom's parents in Roosevelt Aug. 18. Decorations of rust and peach formed the setting for the garden reception and dried flower arrangements accented the refreshment tables. The bride chose a long, flowing gown of Quiana with a cowl neckline and long sleeves and her veil flowed from a white hat. She carried a bouquet of rust and peach dried mums and baby breath. Rebecca Burton, maid of honor, wore a dress of rust Quiana and carried a basket of dripd flowers. Bridesmaids Bessie T. Begay, Paula W. Bartholomew, Betty Ann II. Murray, Rosalie Stade and wide-brimme- d Cheryl Kramer wore alternating rust and peach gowns and also carried baskets of dried flowers. The mothers of the couple chose dresses of peach polyester crepe and dried flower corsages. Randy Labrum was best man and Douglas Labrum was usher. The two-laywedding cake was topped with a replica of the Manti Temple, surrounded with rust and peach silk daisies. Vicky Lundell, Suanne Gasser and Connie Madson served, while Nola Jones and Marie Bishop were in charge of gifts and Darlene Jensen and Lisa Bishop tended the guest book. For the Roosevelt open house, Mrs. Douglas Labrum, Mrs. Randy labrum, Mrs. Marion Bowman, Mrs. Devere Hancock, Mrs. Dean Frandsen, Tami Crozier and Kathy Duncan were in charge of serving while Mrs. Theron Leavitt and Mrs. Marlin Buchanan were in charge of gifts and Janie Labrum tended the guest book. The groom, who attended college at Dixie College and BYU, will be attending chiropractic school at Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa, where the couple will make their home. was served.
