The rest of the time was spent in visiting Nauvoo and other historical areas. One hundred members and partners of the Roosevelt 5th Ward Relief Society attended an opening social garden party at the residence of Dr. and Mrs. Randy Johnson Wednesday evening. The group enjoyed a delicious dinner and program. Cammie has been staying with her the Pickups for a few weeks. The Brough's held their family reunion at Moon Lake last Sunday, August 21. They had a real good turnout, 91 in all. Bruce and Sandy Jarman of Randlett spent the weekend at Moon Lake where they attended the Rrough reunion on Sunday. Joe and Irene Dennison and family of Salt Lake spent the weekend with her folks Jess and Viola Jensen of Randlett. Lawrence and Loraine Justice spent one day during the week in Salt Lake. Lorane had an appointment with her doctor. Karen and Sherell Wickham of Ogden brought Kevan and Shon home. The boys had spent 10 days with their grandparents and other relatives and friends in Ogden. Bryan's sister spent a few days with Wickhams before returning to Ogden. Rampton's proclamation in early 1974, the Utah Transportation Commission affirmed several months. On the advice of Mr. Wilkinson, the Commission passed Friday's resolution under a provision of Utah law allowing the Commission to lower the state'a speed limit where engineering and traffic investigations show that the speed limit is not safe or reasonable. The resolution states: "engineering and traffic investigations indicate that compliance with the 55 mile per hour limit would result in fewer accidents and would be a benefit to the health, safety, and welfare of the State." The resolution also notes that Congress and the President of the United States have established a permanent 55 mile per hour maximum speed limit.
