Mrs. Hoyt is a sister to Mrs. Broadhead. e Mr. and Mrs. Leland Wright have reported that their daughter Linda and husband are now living in Ward ford burg, Penn. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Skinner, Provo, Walt Schrievers mother also Verl Schriever all of Salt Lake and mr. and Mrs. Kent Lyman, Nephi were weekend guests at the home of the Leland Wrights. Mrs. Kent Lyman (Mary Ann) attended her class reunion held in Duchesne. The class year was 1972 Mrs. Frieda Davies made a trip to Salt Lake Monday to be present at the funeral of a distant male cousin. The weekend of the 13th the Davies family held their reunion at Rock Creek. All members of the family were in atten- 1 time change: TOPS in Roosevelt now meets on Wednesday. from 5:50 to 6:20. Meeting begins ot 6.30 at the Roosevelt Elementary School. The past weekend Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Abplanalp attended the Fietkau family reunion held at Price Canyon Park. The Abplanalp's also spent a few days up Rock Creek camping and fishing. Frew Utahn Newcomers Club, third Thursday, at 1:30 p m. Duchesne County Sportsman Club, meets first Wednesday. 7 30 m.. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Taylor also Allen Potter spent Saturday through Monday up at Brook's Cliffs and Jeffery Chapel. Monday, September 5 camping and bow hunting. Thursday, Mrs. Ed Morris drove to Salt Lake to attend the positive mental attitude rally held at the Salt Palace. Mrs. Betty Ward left Thursday for Salt Lake for medical attention. She Young Adult Labor Day Dance will be held at Myton City tennis courts from 9--1 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 6 Young Mothers Program starts. Wednesday, September 7 Bus. trip to Flaming Gorge for the Senior Citizens. Young adults activities set p.m. Music will be provided by a sound system. The dress is casual and refreshments will be served. Square dancing has been cancelled untQ further notice. All young adults are welcome to participate in all activities and firesides. The Young Adults of the two Roosevelt Stakes announce their activities for the week. Thursday, August 1 is sports night This will be held at the Roosevelt Stake Center, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Recreation such as volleyball and basketball is planned. Monday, September 5, a Labor Day Dance, is being planned. It will be at returned Saturday., Mr. and Mrs. Verl Ivie and children drove to Nephi on Friday to attend the 4th division riding dub; Tony Ivie was on eof the participants in the senior division. In the Duchesne County horse show Tony Ivie took high point in the senior division county horse show. Terry Ivie took high point in the junior division; Larry Ivie took 3rd in the horse show for age group. 4-- H Cl&y Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Nelson, spent a week at Camp Utada above Kamas for diabetic children. Also over the past weekend Clay's parents and grandparents, the Max Birch's spent a few days camping up at Mirrow Lake, picking Clay up on the return trip. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wright, Mrs. Elaine Farnsworth attended the funeral of Mr. Merrill Liston, a distant relative who was killed in a plane crash near Salina. The funeral was held in Pleasant Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Tallon, friends of the Ken Wilkensons from Costa, Mesa, Calif., who have been vacationing at Cedar Mountain, were guests over the weekend at the Wilkensons. The new pipe will be longer and provide better service to the residents of Ballard. Richard Fausett is doing the construction work. Joyce Locke has moved a mobile home to her property where her home burned down last spring. Better police protection has been granted by Uintah County Commissioners for the Ballard town area. Ballard has added a new police officer to the force, Pete Pickup, and he and officer Julius Murray have a new office in the old Cos tor is house. For assistance call and if no one is in the office the call will be picked up by a dispatcher in Vernal who will locate these police by 722-458- The new Reidhead radio station building in Ballard is completed and they are now waiting for operating equipment In about one month it will be ready for operation. e The Bell Telephone Co. has buried the telephone line from U. S. 40 highway south from Ballard Church one mile and then west about V mile to the Reid head radio station. Otey Benson from Hyrum, Ut., is visiting at her sister's the Lee Angus'. The Aaron Rasmussen home, which had the roof blown off two weeks ago, has now been repaired. e The Dale Nelsons had a family reunion last Saturday and Sunday at their home. All of their children were there and both of the Nelson's parents attended. A family dinner was held Sunday, e Mr. and Mrs. Orlan Cook and Clyde and Allen Collins went to Salt Lake City last Sunday to visit their father who was in the St Marks Hospital. Mrs. Golden Collins has gone for an extended visit with her daughter, Mrs. Earl Taylor, who lives in Eureka, Utah. e Visiting Hazel Shisler was Mrs. Allen Lloyd from Taft, Calif. Mrs. Lloyd is Hazel's cousin and grew up in Bluebell e Mr. and Mrs. Bryon Hancock and chfidren from Kearns spent the night with their aunt, Telintha Rasmussen and visited other relatives in the area, e Gene Goodrich is building a new home north of Ballard Church which will be completed about the end of October. At present Gene lives in Tridell. The Fort Duchesne Brownie Troop Number 508 and leaders Rhea Hunt and Alice Daniels attended Girl Scout Camp August 0 at Camp Red Cliff on the south fork of Ogden River. Swimming, hiking, archery and crafts were participated in by Debbie Engdahl, Pearleen Teresa Daniels, Celina Copperfield, Mary Gardner and Christy Clark. Aaron Rasmussen's three horses raced at Ely, Nev., last Saturday. Bayard won the Attorney General Handicap race and Issue's Excuse also won his race while R. J. Alibi came in second in his race. A missionary farewell was held at Ballard Ward Chapel Sunday for Kenneth Womack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Womack of Independence. This included Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Burhanan and Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Buchanan of Buchanan Feed, Roosevelt. The dealers qualified for the trip by goal of achieving a LOOMIX liquid feed supplement sales for the period from July 1, 1976 to March 31, 1977. A total of 17 different independent dealerships were represented on the trip, an excellent number considering the effect drought and low rattle prices had on supplement sales during that period of time. By achieving additional sales goals, dealers could qualify up to two more couples from their firm for the trip. Dale Dyer Feeds, of Hyannis, Nebraska, was the only dealership with three couples attending. Five other dealerships did qualify a second rouplc.
