Show clubs carry out community pride projects 4-- H in Duchesne County carried out Pride Projects in several communities this year and Community supervisors have been chairpersons for the Community Pride Project in their community. Each of the projects planned consisted of beautifying local areas by cleaning and planting or cleaning and painting and each received money from Standard Oil Grants for projects. In Tabioni beautification of an area by the church was undertaken and planting petunias in colors of red, white and blue was done by several of the leaders and clubs in the area. Nadene Roberts was the supervisor and $50.00 wu spent on the project Dorothy Ivie was chairperson in Duchesne and about 10 from Duchesne Silver Spurs club cleaned repaired and painted the announcers stand and fence post in colors at the Duchesne County Fair Grounds. In true Halloween fashion, a mummy, complete with sunken eyes and tattered body, limped onto the scene and demanded to give the Cubs their awards. Later in the evening a mock' presidential election was held. Hie candidates were The Great Pumpkin and The Ghost. The Ghost's supporters made lengthy speeches and campaign promises and the Great Pumpkin simply handed out candy. When the votes were tallied, the Ghost had won by a margin of two to one. The Cubs exhibited pumpkins which they had carved prior to pack meeting. Glade Hadden and his friend, Fred t Enders stayed at the home of Glade's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hadden. Both Glade and Fred are in the army stationed at Ft Bliss in ElPaso, Texas.
