Show Union wrestlers climb toward state title Union high's last two wrestling wins have been impressive testimonials to the bet that the Cougars should be rated 1 or 2 in the state this year. Glen Hemstreet, Bruce Moore, and Mark Farnsworth-thr- ee of the four top weights-a- ll pinned their opponents to clinch the victory for Union. The next night. In that match, Grants ville's only win came on a superior decision over a Union team member wrestling a Cowboy ten pounds heavier. ' The Cougars' high score came as a 33-1- STANDARD result of almost every wrestler pinning his opponent. Those victorious were Steve Hamilton, Rex McKee, Larry Zufelt, Dino Pike, and Glen Hemstreet. Doug Bradley, instructor at the Center, states that the new course, Diesel Engine Maintenance, is the result of increasing demand in this area for diesel engine technicians. Mr. Bradley further states that several months of planning, budgeting and preparation preceded the addition of this special new program at the Center. Two and four cycle diesel engine maintenance and repair will be covered during the training period. Instructional materials have been acquired from Cummins, Detroit GM, and Catapillar diesel engine training programs for use in the new offering. Mr. Bradley has recently received special training in Columbus, Ohio, at the Cummins Plant He has also received special training at Detroit GM Diesel and has an extensive background in diesel technology. The course will emphasize the laboratory approach where students will spend the majority of their time in practical application rather than theory. A variety of training aids such as engine component cutaways, two and four cycle engines, etc., w31 be utilized in teaching the course. Apparent high demand for technicians, trained in diesel technology, especially in the energy producing areas such as the Uintah Basin, makes this new class offering a very important and timely action at this time. ASPEN Duchesne wrestlers compete in tourney Duchesne wrestlers last week particimatch at East pated in a four-teaCarbon, coming back with nine individual victories, but no team trophy. On January 10 Duchesne tackled Monlieello. Three Eagles gained wins, two by pins and one on points, but the team lost by a total score of Getting pins were Mitch Hoffman and Bruce Taylor, with Brian Taylor winning by points. The next evening Duchesne met East Carbon, and wrestled to a 36 to 34 final count, with East Carbon the winners. Claude Potleet came up with a pin for Duchesne, and Mitch Hoffman won on points. Jim Ivie, Brian Taylor, Bruce Taylor and Jeff Marrelt all won on forfeits. This week Duchesne was to have wrestled South Kummilt Tuesday, and the JV team will meet Tabiona JV this Saturday.
