Mrs. Zelma Lloyd received a visit from her nephew Devere Dennis of Spanish Fork Friday. e Dr. and Mrs. Danniel Dennis, Verlyn Stewart, Murell Johnson ami Mrs. George Mangan attended the reinact-meof Statehood Celebration at the tabernacle in Salt Lake Saturday. Eleven 4th grade students from Roosevelt area accompanied them, there they had the opportunity to sing with 1,000 4th grade students at the ceremony. One hundred and sixty people enjoyed the New Years Eve breakfast and dance at the Ballard Ward Cultural Hall, sponsored by the special interest group. Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Wilkins entertained the group with special dancing. e Dr. and Mrs. Paul Edmunds from Cedar City were holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Burke Eldred ge and other friends. e President and Mrs. Dennis Mower motored to Fairview, for two days over the weekend to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mower. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bowman attended funeral services for his unde Heber J. Done of Provo last week. Mr. and Mr. Dick Scholes accompanied by their granddaughter Rae Ann Scholes and Vera Larsen, left Saturday for St. George where they will make their future home having sold their hone now. They will be greatly missed by their relatives and friends here. e The many college students home to the holidays have returned to continue their education at their various colleges, e Rodney Lisonbee from Jacksoa, Wya, visited with friends here during the holidays. e Mrs. Agnes Birtcher enjoyed a six day visit from her daughter Donna Birtcher during the Christmas Holiday, after which she accompanied her daughter as to as Salt Lake City on her return home. Davis at Provo, v Tuesday. a Mrs. Millie Stevens returned home Wednesday from a two weeks vacation, she accompanied her sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Larsen of Salt Lake City as to as Kansas City, then flew to Chicago where she visited her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Steens, Chris is attending the North Western Dental University in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sloan and family of Morgan, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Merrill, they came to attend the game between Morgan and Union. e Mrs. Minnie Morrill accompanied her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Barnes and daughter Marilyn to Calif., during the holidays where they visited her grandchildren, Mr. and Mra. Malcom Jones at Ft. Ord and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Quinn at San Bernadino. e Holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Merrill were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Merrill from Buffalo, Wyo. Out of town relatives that came to attend funeral services to their aunt Ethel Bingham Jauerd, were Mr. and Mrs. Karl Young from Centerville, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Day, Heber City, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Young of Springdale, Mrs. Jauerd was a former . resident of this area and a sister of Clara Young. The David Rasmussen family vacationed for seven days during the holidays in the Los Angeles area. They also visited a brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Hicken. Mr. and Mrs. Elvyn Bascom motored to Provo Saturday to take their son Kent back to school at the BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gilbert and son Brent motored to Cortes, Colo., over the weekend. Brent is attending school in Cortex and staying with his uncle's family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hicken, they also visited the Ray Cavanaugh family at Blanding. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shields went to Logan Saturday to get their daughter Joan who has been attending Utah State University and ha now transferred to the BYU at Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Rawlings hosted a New Years Eve dinner party at their home, with twenty-tw- o guests attending. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Lamond Hutchings of Price. Mrs. Merle Smith enjoyed a visit from her two sons Karl and Howard Smith of Springdale, during the holidays, also Mr. and Mrs. Thcron Robb of Utahn, e Two babies .were blessed and given names by their fathers in Sth ward sacrament meting Sunday. The baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerrol Syme was given the name Meredith Ilona, and the baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stewart wu given the name Shavna Ann, her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Jones of Bonanza also attended sacrament meeting to be present to this special event. Rodger and Marilyn Smith and children of Idaho Falls were holiday guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Alva Snow. Mrs. Ken Anderson and children Janette and David of Sidney, Australia have been visiting the put week at the home of Mr. and Mra. John Murphy and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Murphy. Other holiday guests wu their daughter and family, Gene and Paula Jayne of Provo. e The following group of young people went to Park City Monday where they enjoyed the day skiing. Gwen Rkhens, Clayton Perkins, Clark Labrum, Paula Nelson, Jack and Susan Mecham and Mike Egan. e Mr. and Mrs. Butch Fenn left Christ mu day for Lu Vegas, Nevada, then continuing on to California where they met Mr. and Mrs. Dee Street and frmily, and enjoyed a tour of Southern California. Some places of interest, visited, included a visit to Disneyland, Knots Berry Farm, and Sea World. A visit to Tujjuana, wu also on the agenda.
