Show 1 Emergency care class will be STANDARD held Nov. 7 lluir will be an Emergency Care Class wiih Craw Jensen, Public Health Nurse as instructor. The class will be held at the Duchesne County in a hospital downstairs class room, on November 7, from 2 3:30 p.nt. Subjects covered will be first aid; reactions to bee sling; poisoning; shock; home delivery; and home safety. The class is the first in a series of Home maker classes sponsored by the l oinniunity Education Program. Con Amore Training Center in Mvton serves sixteen exceptional students, with a curriculum which includes music, physical education, mat hematics, reading, social studies, woc.il shop, sewing, and several language programs, and also individualized speech therapy under the direction of Karen limwn. Two trained Aides and a Director provide a 5 to student teacher ratio enabling each st udent to receive the attention he needs to develop academic, motor and social 1 skills. Efforts by several agencies are being to provide a wide spectrum of services to all handicapped citizens of the county. A sheltered workshop to provide .skill training and employment, is in the planning stage, recreational therapy and craft programs will be part of a continuing program and service. Recognition of the contributions and potential of handicapped citizens will enrich not only their lives, but the lives of all made cit izens. The public is invited and encouraged to visit Con Amore Training Center (call and also to attend meetings of the Duchesne Association for Retarded Citizens. The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.tn. on November 7 at the Con Amore School. All American, teen pageant scheduled Miss Utah Teen I'ageant will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Salt Palace Little Theatre, June 1 1, 1973. Contestants will be housed at t ae ltamada Inn in Salt Lake. The Utah pa l' earn is the official state preliminary to the Miss Teen Pageant, held in Kansas City, Missouri in August, 1973. The theme of this Pageant is Why I Ant Proud To Be An American." Each rmitcslant participates in the theme. Each contestant also receives a trophy. Trophies, too, for the winner and four runners up, Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic, Essay contest winners, and there are tuition scholarships as well as cash scholarships. The Utah winner will receive an all expenses paid trip to Kansas City to compete for the title of Miss Teen in August. The contestants will p lie judged on scholastic and appearance. She is reported doing fine. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Duncan went to Salt Lake over the weekend to see the Charlie Pride show. Mr. and Mrs. Dcloy Dye and family sjieiit the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Deloss Dye. In sacrament meeting Sunday, Linda Hastian and Christine Starkey were confirmed members of the church. Rabies blessed were, Kelly Ray Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Jensen, Nancy Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Keezer Jr., Shane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Duncan, Jared Kyle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Dye and the baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Wilkerson. Jerilee Jensen, Logan, visited over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hill Iaihrum was an overnight patient in the Duchesne County Hospital Sunday. Debbie Labrum, Provo, and Mrs. Erma Labrum, Salt Lake City, visited in Ncola over the weekend. Dehhie visited with her grandmother, Mrs. Rose Gardner and Erma was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Labrum. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Labrum, Sandy, were weekend guests at the home of Mrs. Ester Halverson. Mrs. Florence Howard returned home last week after visiting with her children for a while. Mrs. Jack Alder was a guest at the Mrs. Kay Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Roberts for the hunt were Dr. Joe Thorn and father, Cecil Roberts and family, Max Roberts and boys from Salt Lake and also Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lewis and family. Marsha and Marva Turnbow visited at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Turnbow. Jan Giles visited in Tabiona over the weekend she reports her mother, Jolene is recovering from all the surgery she has had and is at the home of her daughter, Carolyn in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Thomas went to Salt Lake Thursday to take their daughter to the doctor and do some shopping. Mrs. Flora Fabrizio, Annette, and KaVere Fabrizio went to Salt Lake for groceries Thursday and Flora kept a dentist appointment. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ogden and family. The baby son of Mr. and Mrs. La V ere Fabrizio is still in Utah Valley Hospital at Provo. He is improving, but will have to stay for ten days to two weeks. Mrs. Linda Hackett went to Provo Friday of this week to take her baby daughter to the doctor. She also had to attend some meetings in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nye left Thursday for a trip to Texas to visit their son, Carl John Nye and family. Mr. and Mrs. David Roberts and family and Mr.and Mrs. Ted Nye went to Vernal Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Davies and family of Salt Lake visited Mrs. Crystal Hackett and Tamara over the weekend. Hansen Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth received word this past weekend that Mr. Hansen's father, who had been very ill had passed away at Bountiful. Mr. Hansen teaches school at Tabiona high. At Sacrament meeting Sunday, Ann Roberts was released as Secretary, and Wanda Ivie was sustained in her place. Mrs. Evelyn Jones went to Salt Lake Wednesday of this week. She visited friends and relatives and Jolene Giles who is in Cottonwood Hospital while in the city. Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Rhoades spent Wednesday in Salt Lake on business and did some shopping while in the city.
