Show Neighborhood Sew Culture club enjoys annual steak fry Mrs. Dean Frandsen was the hosiess to the Neighborhood sewing dub, July 17. Thirteen members and a guest, Mrs. Dennis Laris was present. The evening was spent doing different kinds of hand work and visiting. Refreshments were served. Culture club held their annual steak fry with all the trimmings, this past week with 20 attending the gala affair. Susan Soimonson entertained the group with her singing. Those present enjoyed visiting and eating. 4-- H 5 25, 1974 STANDARD-JU-LY summer scorcher on youth participate in clean up program The Duchesne County under the direction of Allan Andrew, Youth Specialist, and Marie Hale, Home Economist recently directed the paint-ufix-u- p clean-up- , of the fair building used for and home arts exhibits. The Standard Oil Company donated $25.00 to the project. The County Commissioners (Duchesne County) and Duchesne City each donated $50.00, totaling $125.00. The fair will help with the rest of the cost. One hundred and eighty five enrol(approximately half of the led) helped with the cleaning, painting, and fixing of the building on July 18 and 19th. leaders state the building looks a great deal better, though some of the had as much paint on them as on the building. Duncan, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Deloy Duncan of Neola were married May 31st during a double ring ceremony in the Roosevelt 2nd ward cultural hall, by Bishop Frank Madsen. Dinner at the Shields residence honored the bridal party prior to the reception where the young couple greeted guests against a background of silver with lighted grecian pillars standing on each side topped with baskets of pink mums and yellow gladulas. An arch entwined with green was topped with a bouquet of pink mums and yellow roses. The bride was lovely in a floor length gown of chiffon over satin featuring an empire waistline and a bodice of white imported lace. The lace was repeated on the long bouffant sleeves which had pointed cuffs. A shoulder length veil adorned the brides tresses, held in place at the crown with a lace tiers. She carried a bouquet consisting of a large white orchid surrounded by pink and yellow roses, with white baby breath and yellow pink and green blended streamers. Matron of honor for the young bride was Mrs. Gloria Maughan, Sheril Zager was her maid of honor. Maid and matron wore floor length yellow dresses of waffle knit with high bodice, short puffed sleeves, and tied in back. They wore wide yellow brimmed hats, and carried bouquets of pink roses, yellow daisies, and white baby breath. Bridesmaids were Rhea Carter, Christy Foote, Kerri Lynn Freestone and Tammy Smith. Flower girls were Kathy and Kimberly Robinson. Bridesmaids wore floor length, pink knit dresses with high bodice, short puffed sleeves, and ties in the back, and pink wide brimmed hats. They also carried bouquets of pink roses, yellow daisies and white baby breath. The flower girls were dressed similar to those worn by bridesmaids but in yellow, and trimmed with white eyelet embroidery. They carried baskets of flowers. HAWAII1975 12 DAYS Jan. 27th. holiday. The cake top was in white with crocheted wedding bells trimmed with pink, and fresh yellow and pink roses set inside them. White cupids were set in front of the bells. Ila Rae Gingel was in charge of serving, and Mary Kaye Madsen, Brenda Ford, Cindy Shields, and Janet Hall assisted. Julie Buxton and Sherry Nielson were in charge of gifts and Jana Lee Bailey, a sister of the bride sat at the guest book. The. young couple are making tneir home in KoosevelL Westinghouse Automatic Defrost Girl Scout camp held July 9 -- Refrigerator 11 The Roosevelt and Neola girl scouts held a special war hoop at the big park camp grounds in the Uintah Canyon July It was held under the direction of camp director, Mrs. David Duncan and leaders Mrs. Buck Holmberg, Mrs. Carl Jones, Mrs. Leroy Garrens, Mrs. Ken Christiansen and Mrs. Homer lorn. The girls learned out door skills of tent pitr ching, fire building, camp cooking, nature study, trail blazing and hiking. A fun time was spent in crafts, first aid, scout zoning, campfire skits and songs. A soft ball game was held between Neola and Roosevelt with the cadets divided among the teams. Neola won 9 to 6. The girls also held a round dance. Tribes were the Osage, Nezpier and Scmmionoes. Utah girl scout counsel advisor, Jan Oliveto, also attended. Miss Christie Thompson, her daughter was in charge of music during the worship hour, a selection by Hayden was played for special music. Mrs. Thompson used Temptation as her sermon topic. The congregation was encouraged to send cards and letters to Mrs. Janet Lamb who is in LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. Quilting will be at Mrs. Robert Paynes one day and the church one day this week. Contact a ladies aid member for information. The worship service will be brought to us by Presbyterian Seminary student, David Marrille of Salt Lake on July 28, 1974.
