Show 4 Mothers club hosts seniors at reception STANDARD Moy 23. 1974 The DHS Senior Reception was held on Friday evening. May 17 at the Du- e room. chesne Elementary This annual event was sponsored by the Duchesne Mother's Club, to honor Seniors and their parents. Guests were greeted by the officers of the club and the girls were presented with s corsage, the boys s boutonniere. Special guests were principal and Mrs. Lowell CaldweU, and Mr. and Mrs. Brent Barfuss from Logan. Refreshments were served and a program was presented. Mr. Brent Barfuss emceed the program beginning with a welcome by Mother'! Club President, Carma Jean Lisonbee. Pauline Taylor sang the Graduation Theme song accompanied by John Dobyns on the guitar, a medley of songs by Sherrie Lott, Greg Hayes and Jansel Brown; Senior Will by Karri Taylor; piano selection by Kirby Giles; Dramatic reading by Lynna Martin & Susan Huey; speakers, Mary Lois Hayes and Principal Lowell Caldwell Chairmen of the committees for the evening were Norma Hadden, Joan Foy, Barbara Rowley, Barbara Jensen, Gayle Young and Marie Kielbasa. multi-purpos- Prominent woman transferred to new locale Anne Platt, who has worked as Education and Vocation specialist for the BIA at the U & 0 Indian Agency at Ft. Duchesne has been transferred to the Yuma sub agency in Yuma, Ariz. Mrs. Platt will assume the duties of employment assistance officer working with the Quechan and Cocopah Indian tribes, in addition to working with the Sherman Indian high school and students of the Arizona western college in Yuma. Mrs. Platt has been at the U & 0 agency for the past three years. She is a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Vernal, and a member of Culture club, BPW, Just a Mere and Birthday bridge, in Roosevelt. She has also served the past two years as Chairman of the Indian Affairs Division for the Utah Stale Federated Womens Club. Mrs. Platt said she has really enjoyed the association she has had with people in the area and her work. She is transfer ring because of her health. BONNIE CROZIER SETS AUG. 0th WEDDING DATE Mr. and Mrs. Francis Crozier, Tustin, Calif., are happy to announce the engage- ment of their daughter Miss Bonnie Crozier to Mr. Keith Duane Lisenbe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy J. Lisenbe, Santa Ana, KATHY CLAYBURN Calif. Bonnie is a 1973 high school and is BRUCE PETERSON MARRY JUNE 1 of Tustin graduate currently employed with the Balboa Bay Club in Newport secretary. Keith is a 1972 graduate of Saddleback high school and is working in Tustin as a mechanic. He is studying to be a Turbine Technician. The young couple are planning an August 10 wedding date. The Crozier's are former residents of Neola where Bonnie spent her childhood and most of her school days. Beach as a 7th Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Clayburn of Bridge-lantake pleasure in announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kathy, to Bruce Peterson son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle M. Peterson, of Kearns. Kathy was a student at Union high school and graduated with the class of 73. She is now attending the Hollywood Beauty School in Provo. Bruce is attending the BYU, majoring in Physical Therapy. He served an LDS mission in Hong Kong. The young couple will be married June 7th in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor June 8th in the Bridgeland LDS Ward chapel They will make their home in Provo. d The former performed Monsen were wed in rites Susan Kinghorn and Rowen John in the Provo LDS Temple May 10. KINGHORN MONSEN WED IN TEMPLE RITES -- Clayburn will marry Bruce Peterson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 7. Mr. and Mrs. J. V, Freston returned home May 18 after spending a few days in Salt Lake where Mr. Freston consulted the doctor. Dida Emert attended the Seminary graduation at Uintah high school May 15. She was among the honor guests from the class of 1922. It was the 50th anniversary of the first Seminary graduation. Visitors at the home of Mrs. Minnie Morrill last week were Mr. and Mrs. Max Morrill and iamily, Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Wilson, Pleasant Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Allred and Mrs. Minnie Morrill went to Provo last week where they went to the Temple. Mrs. Morrill was an over night guest of her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ellery Grant. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Edith Laris and Mrs. Nancy Burton returned home May 20 from Phoenix where they visited with Mrs. Gladys Morrill. They were accompanied by Mrs. Louella Apostlol Midvale. Mrs. Laris. Mrs. Burton Mrs. Aposlol and Mrs. Merrill are sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nelson were business visitors in Roosevelt May 17, they have been living in Salt Lake and are moving to Rangely where Mr. Nelson will manage the airport. Weekend visitors at the Elroy Wilkins residence were Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Wilkins and family, Murray. Margaret Roberts was home from Provo for the weekend. Friends of Mrs. Steve Be lion will be pleased to know she was able to leave the hospital May 17, but she will have to stay in Eugene for about ten more days. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Mecham and Ronnie, Dugway, visited over the weekend with their daughter and family Mrs. Eula Von Larsen. Mrs. John McClellan and Mrs. Major 0 McClellan, Salt Lake, visited May with their brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Neilsen. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gentry attended a Grand Visitation of the Order of the Eastern Stars in Milford May 17. May 18 they also attended another at the Cedar chapter in Cedar City. Susan Be lion, Provo, spent the weekend in Roosevelt. Mrs. Presley Timothy, Mrs. LeAnn Richens and Mrs. Linda Iorg left May 21 for Missoula, Mont., to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Timothy and Lyle. Guests at the Spencer Squires residence this week were their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Anderson, Salt Lake and Hazel Grahams law, Carlyle, England. Miss Grahamslaw got acquainted with Paul Squire when he was in England on a mission. She visited the Squire family about five years ago. Mr. Wall is a former Ioka resident. Jerry A. Tomlinson, son of Mr, and Mrs. Harry E. Tomlinson, Cedar View, has been called to served a mission to the Philippines. He has been working at Bradshaw Auto Parts, since graduating from Union high school May 1973. He will be honored at a meeting in Roosevelt 2nd ward at 4:15 Sunday May 26. The lesson General Espistle was given by Mrs. Ruth Martin. A pot luck dinner was enjoyed by twelve members.
