Box 618, Alton, III. 62002 Erma J. Christensen womens libbers are pulling out all the stops to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. They know that they have only 17 months left before ERA dies on March 22, 1979 and they are willing to pay any price to force ERA down our throats. The There will be men down on their knees. Begging for their lives. Some we'll spare, and some we wont For justice is our knife. Therell be judo, therell be self-defen-se. And rifles for each wife. For its liberation time! By Erma J. Christensen The above was not simply a release mechanism by a disdainful female with an I Hate Men complex. These disturbing and hostile words were jubilantly belted out to the tune of The Battle Hymn of the Republic by members of the women's liberation movement in celebration of the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment by Congress in March, 1972 in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor. (From The American Mercury, Fall 1977.) A close study of the libbers" own writings - books, articles, reading lists, etc. - reveals their basic ideals and short and long range goals. What is revealed is that the womens lib movement is one of the greatest threats of modern times to the institutions of marriage, the family, and our American political system. movement The Women), National Womens Party, S.O.W. President Carter has obliged by appointing Mark Siegel to lobby for ERA directly out of the White House, and by appointing every prominent womens libber to the IWY Commission (Bella Abzug, Gloria Steinem, the heads of NOW, Womens Political Caucus, ERAmerica, and the Gay Task Force), but refusing to appoint a single member of Stop ERA or Eagle Forum. Womens lib organizations are now engaged in raising large sums of money to defeat legislators who voted NO on ERA, and to elect legislators to vote YES. Washington, June 29 The League of Women Voters hopes to raise up to $1,500,000 for major campaigns in four states to seek ratification of the Equal Rights has Amendment, the Sun-Tim- MORE FLIM FLAM ON PANAMA ISSUE EASTERN PRESS TELLS PEOPLE EVERYTHING BUT TRUTH Because the overwhelming majority of the American people are opposed to giving the Panama Canal to dictator Torrijos, the eastern liberal news media have come up with one bit of trickery after another to try to beat down resistance to the proposed giveaway. According to a recent news release, the resistance on the part of the American people to the giveaway should lessen because a survey taken in Panama showed that the people of Panama were opposed to the treaty also. In other words, if the Panamanian citizens are opposed to the treaty, we should be for it, all other factors to be ignored. Well, the Panamanian people were opposed to dictator Torrijos taking over their government by armed force to begin with. No rational American would be in favor of such a takeover just because the Panamanians opposed it! The truth is, the majority of the Panamanians are opposed to the idea of our politicians giving our Canal to Torrijos. And let there be no misunderstanding under the proposed treaty, the Canal would not go to the Panamanian citizens it would go to Omar Torrijos. What the whole thing boils down to is that our politicians are acting in a manner contrary to the best interests of the American citizens, and the politicians of Panama are doing likewise. Its the politicians of both countries conniving together to benefit themselves at the expense of the citizens of both countries. Seems like its high time for the citizens of both countries to knuckle down and do some serious political housecleaning. : If you want Targeted in a campaign that Ms Lamp I estimated could go down to the wire are Illinois, Florida, North Carolina, and Oklahoma. The ERA has failed in all these states. With 21 months left before time runs out for passage of the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution, the We cant stand up to the onslaught of professional lobbyists, advertising firms, press agents, paid organizers, and ed workers, to know when a war is coming, you just watch the United States and see when it starts down on its cutting defenses. (That is, American value firms that profits any way they can get them sell goods to Communist countries in exchange for IOUs. Then the IOUs are bought by the Export-Impo- rt Bank with money supplied by U.S. taxpayers.) It appears that the proposed Panama Canal treaty is just another scheme to have American taxpayers bail out the big boys at the top. Only this time, instead of being big industrialists, the big boys are big financiers. What this country needs in the worst way is top-lev- el statesmen who arc fiercely loyal to their country, even at the expense of their own welfare men of unquestioned integrity and patriotism. And this is exactly what we don't have, and havent had for many, many years. Article III.
